When I road tuned my Gen1 with Dynojet equipment, I went with 13 AFR throughout the entire table...mostly because I didn't know what else to do. I was told I would get a little better torque by tuning rich and best hp tuning lean. I had a map with various AFRs. I used that as my base map and just filled the target AFR table with 13. I didn't feel a day and night change from the base map as far as power was concerned. I did get the bike to accelerate smoothly at WOT from 2000 rpm in 6th gear. I just did that to see if it could be done and darned if it couldn't. The tuning also completely smoothed out the flies. There was an abrupt increase in power at 2500 rpm and again at 6000 rpm. My base map smoothed it out but the tuning eliminated it altogether.
I had (have) an ignition module on the bike too but never got around to messing with it. TREs were a popular mod for the Gen1. No timing restriction through locking the mapping to Neutral or 6th gear. IDK how much I'd play around with the timing beyond that. From what I understand, there is no readily available software that can be used to view the stock timing tables so tuning timing is all guesswork. I have a stock timing table for the Gen2 but who knows if it's authentic? If it is, how much would I play around with it?
I'm going with a flash first but after that, I'd like to try doing it myself again, this time with Woolich. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use my Moore flash as a base map. I was recently told by you or perhaps another member that if I open up the Woolly software on my Moore flash, that will wipe the whole ECU clean.
