Thanks Kruz. This photo below was more the semi-pro level rider. There was an oil sponsor that had 'A riders' and 'B riders.' B's were given a few cases of oil. A riders were; back up the truck for unlimited cases of oil. Still using 40+yr old 50w racing in all the 14's I've gone thru, plus the bikes I've owned later when I stopped racing.

This race, I ground down the ign cover on one side and shifter arm on the other side. Sponsor came out that day, riders were around him talking and this race was to see if I would still be sponsored for a few more races. Came in 2nd that day. Ron Pierce on a Yoshi bike, Harry Klinzmann behind me. Both guys had years of racing and I'm still green doing it. Pulled one out of my ass that day.

"Fast Freddie" Spencer smoked everybody and went on to become a three time 500CC Gran Prix World Champion and only rider in history to win both 250cc and 500cc Granprix World titles in a single year.... You raced against this guy back in the day? What was his secret, was he always fast from day one, just a natural?

Hubster the above photo was photoshopped as a proof of concept for said parts bin special using OEM parts. Actual parts are much brighter than I expected, more orange tint.

When you see Rossi and Marquez, and the Lorenzo types racing at a young age, those are going to wipe the asses of kids staring out in their teens.

Another thing is parent support. You always see parents in the pits. More the sugar daddies to keep racing going all those years.

Ha ha, no hope for me then, I got a very late start on street bikes, was 20 when I bought my RD350 Yamaha two smoke and then a big hiatus while I raised a family. First serious sportbike was the ZX-14 at 51 years old, so I'm a late bloomer.

Now that I take a second look, it's not bad looking. I like the cut off A. BTW, are you a Ctek fan with all those batteries losing volts a day? Did you take a few minutes to drain the bowls of the covered bikes? That's a lot of maintenance you've got there.

Hi Hub, yessir with this many machines I have to really stay on top of maintenance, I try ride to each consistently at no more than 10 day intervals, or if not, I crank them up and run them in the garage up to operating temperature to stir up the oil and put a fresh charge on the batteries. All except two have lithium ion batteries so they've done very well. Fuel has not been an issue as even in winter, they get taken out and ridden at least once a month.

Hub, the only bike with a float bowl in my garage is the 2004 VTX1300C cruiser with a Mikuni vaporizer unit on it, the sportbikes are all fuel injected.

I make sure the VTX get's run on a regular basis in the winter and have never had any issue with gumming up the bowl in what is now it's 20th year in my garage.

Keep riding them and they are fine, I don't know how many times I have to tell aircraft owners the same thing, if you park your plane for a year,it's going to run like crap, if it runs at all, everytime, guaranteed!
