The black paint on the sides of my tank keeps getting marked by my leathers.
Looks scuffed with milky appearance.
Anyone else got the same problem?

You might be cutting into the clear coat. That is what it sounds like if you say it is turning milky. I use a clear plastic hunk with a tack backing. I cut out where I know my zipper will rub and legs wrapped around so far on the tank. Then I cut out what I need to protect the clear coat.

Have a similar prob on the frame where my shins cross. Very feint but I plan to cover with clear contact paper some day soon to protect the finish. Yeah, I think leathers do a # worse than jeans do. Lockhart/Phillips tank bra seems to cover the knee/tank contact area quite well. Magknight should do the job for you too.
You find a good polish that is designed to remove swirls and that should clear up that milkyness. You probably don't want to keep polishing the heck out of that same spot though or you will polish through eventually.
