This time, it's not mine!
Christmas gift; my son's first bike. He's 8.

We had our first mishap today. We were on the sidewalk in front of the house, and I was going to switch places with him. The bike was still in gear (automatic clutch) and he grabbed a handful of throttle as he was getting off. Thew us both on the ground and skinned his knee a bit. No big deal, but he wasn't too happy. :D

He'll get over it. That might have been a good lesson.
LOL you must have very cool neighbors. I remeber a guy up the street got a dirtbike for his kid and also one for himself. He used to run up to the park and circle the field. LOL didn't go over real well while there was a practice going on. The kid had a blast buzzing around the block on the sidewalk though. Man, he had that course down. I thought it was hilarious.

...and here we are!
So far, he can go in a straight line, and we practice using the kickstand and shifting in and out of neutral every time he stops. Now that he's over that initial fear, he's super excited about riding.
Ok, I can't get the video embedded. Here's a URL
