I hijacked Kruz' Username and Avatar since we ran him off and he wasn't using it anymore...lol!
J/K, I think Grn and Elvis may have both left the building......?
....but Grn will be back now that someone is asking about him.

I think he lost interest when Hub got banned because no one else will get into a pissing contest with him.

Maybe, Danno, you might be on to something.
I quit getting into it with him when he completely quit making any sense at all. Its not worth wasting logic on a rock.
But the "nice" Grn (I remember him as Blu) added to the forum, and made it more interesting to read. We just didn't get much of that "nice" version towards the end.
Its like for a while, I couldn't post anything without an attack post immediately following it. I could post "the sun is out today, and the sky is clear" and he would attack me for it.
I'll duke it out over an issue, but he was going looking for posts of mine, and then Hub (even worse), to stir up trouble and discord, and used personal attacks instead of attacking ideas and facts.
I don't want that Grn to come back, ever.

I met him in person several ago on a riding trip in Montana. Just a happenstance meeting in a gas station. I was on my ZZR 1200 and my riding buddy was on his silver ZX-14. Noticed a guy on a Candy Plasma Blue 14 and went over and started a conversation. Seemed OK. Then, made contact on another forum, but by the time I found him here it seemed something had changed. No idea what.

I'm around you guys...yup...I want to say...I just got released from the hospital Tues...I totalled my bike.Compound fracture in my left ankle. Two cracked neck vertebrea.....torn left kidney.Bike....gone.Helmet...yes...saved my life in this one.Jacket...same....they had to cut it off me...but it saved my hide...maybe even kept my kidney from totally seperating..Lifeflight out of the high plains into my town.ICU(and unconcious)for two days at least.I'm at home now...after two weeks...or close to it.Still healing...but much better now.Kidney stopped bleeding.Ankle healing also.Neck vertebrea...IDK where they 'actually' got that from...but they were attempting to link it with a "severe brain injury" diagnosis...naturally,I wasn't about to just allow em to do that...besides....my head is fine...no scratches,bruising,pain...nada...the helmet of course took the impact(which doesn't mean I didn't get a mild concussion...perhaps....but nothing like they wewre attempting to 'make factual'....which apparently knocked me out...but physically...my brain is doing okay. I've got the vid here...I haven't watched it yet.Not now. Thanks all for you concerns....I'm around...and I hope all of you all being extra careful with your throttle hands on the street.Take care...Grn.

My buddy who rides did watch the video...he said it(to him)did not appear that I was speeding...but I was leaned in to t left hander and a Semi went by me(two lane highway)right before I lost it...I don't personally remember anything EXCEPT(mayb)the frontend going off the shoulder and then that's all...and the beginning of the lifeflight trip back to home.So...IDK at this point what happened. To him...sppeed didn't apperar to be the cause of it...he said it looked like everthing was okay in the turn...and then bam...the bike vid shows it laying on it's side...pointing up...and silence.Nothing...till someone showed up 'whenever'.He couldn't make out what they were saying...but it was I guess the lifeflight crew arriving at the scene.IDK.God is Good.I would have internally bleed to death had I stayed there much longer...fact.

I'll just say for shits and giggles here...a BAD habit to get caught up in and easy to do....looking at the oncoming traffic instead of WHERE yo want to be in YOUR path of travel. This MAY have been what created my crash scenario...I'm not sure but I suspect that's what it was....He said everything looked fine through thecam...but we aren't looking through a cam when we make our inputs....watching an oncoming(yet safe) Semi....it could have been enough to throw off my lean perception and safety margin I thought I had while passin(him as he went by)...IDK.Just be careful and keep your eyes where you WANT to go...not where you've been or are going by at the moment.God Bless all...be safe!

Grn, very sorry to hear this news but just glad you made it through alive. I had a nasty run in with a semi on May 24th of last year. Was on my '08 ZX10R and got cutoff by an 18 wheeler with no where to go but down. It was raining and the road had that greasy film, I had no chance. I was lucky, the bike was cratered and my gear got trashed but I walked away with a scraped knee. Thank the Good Lord for that! I analyzed that crash over and over, even drove to the crash site and looked at the skid marks. I came to the conclusion that I had made five judgment errors when it takes a chain of only three to create an accident. I was asking for it. For your own sake and sanity, you need to know what went wrong so you can have peace of mind when you get back to riding again.
I'm wondering if you got into gravel on the shoulder and lost the front. IDK, that video may hold some clues, along with your memories. Anyway, glad you made it and heal fast bro.

I've been thinking about this, left hand turn, leaned over pretty good you're head would have been pretty close to the centerline if not over. That semi showing up at the apex would have made you steer wide to get some clearance and possibly put you onto the shoulder. Can your friend analyze that film and guestimate your speed by how fast known objects are passing by. How fast do you normally take that turn or was it a strange road? I am very leery of apexing at the same time another vehicle is apexing from the other direction on a two lane road, very distracting because you don't know what they're going to do and it can break your focus.
When you feel up to it and get a chance, post the video, maybe one of us can see something, some kind of clue as to what went wrong.
It's of minor importance right now for sure, but what about the bike, did you have collision insurance?
A prayer sent for speedy and complete recovery Grn. You'll ride again, I'm sure of it, it's in your blood!

The main thing is, you're alive and recovering. Heal fast and try not to dwell on the circumstance that caused the crash. It's a done deal now and you only need to keep moving forward.

Thanks Kruz...ya...I feel the same way about apexing with oncoming traffic.I think what you said was probably exactly what happened....drifting 'wider'(closer to the shoulder) to 'miss' a percieved threat...then 'running out of turn'...ya....That'd be my closest guess about what happened...these roads here sometimes are very narrow appearing at certain angles. In reality...there MAY be plenty of scoot past room.I'm inclined to beleive I lost focus of my path and trained in on that truck for just long enough to break my line leaned in.You don't have to be rollin in triple digits to loose everything real fast. Not with these big heavy bikes.
Like I said..I haven't looked at it yet...but if it's the same curve I think it is...it's got a nasty little decreasing radius hook to it at the exit....but I'm not sure if that's the one or not yet...I'll see. Thanks again for the prayers and all.It was quite ugly....
