Glad you posted that. I was wondering if the cables would be long enough to reach the terminals on a battery that was even a little smaller. Looks like it should but I'll have to measure first to be sure before I order.

Shorai: RE A1 v A2
"Yes they perform the same otherwise."
Green light GO!
Right after I have a look at those cables just to be sure. You know what they say,, "measure twice, cut once." Same goes for battery purchase...Measure twice buy once.

Hold ON, fellas.......both the 14 Ah Shorai batteries are + $49 over the $90 base price at Superbike Supply.
free shipping but $139 is not such a bargain that I need to buy now. If I wait a year and the price goes up to what Shorai recommends, it will only be ~$20 more.
Yes, the 18 Ah are a great deal. They are cheaper than than the 14 Ah and much lower than Shorai's recommended price.
I hate not getting a good deal. dammit.

Get the 18 AH Rook..seriously. I'd go with the biggest Shorai you can wedge into your box, the batteries are so light the extra foam weighs more than the extra battery.
I've never heard anyone say "gee I wish my bike was 2.6 ounces lighter" but they sure raise hell when the bike won't crank.

Yeah---but realistically, the smaller A2 14 AH Shorai is over a half pound lighter than the 18 AH. Still no big dif but I really try to buy what I want and avoid "almost what i wanted." "Almost" just leads to upgrade-itis for me.

2ND,,,,lol. Rook just take a piss,,,,,, sorry but I could not help myself,,weeeee.
Skip top tray and strap Rook and your where you want to be. I have a thin piece of foam on bottom and small piece of the 3/4 foam in front and I cam in at 2.6lbs. This included ground cable and bolts and the glass tape. That's not bad if the weight is really important. Just turn your Batt into a Mummy like I did Lol
I'll bet your smaller battery with all the goodies weighs in at more ?
Rook you have all the info above, up to you now, just be glad your price was not 250$ The price your getting seems like a screaming deal to me.

You are looking at the price for the 18 ah, 6 volt. The 18 ah, 12 volt is + $79 on Superbike Supply's site.
Coors Light? Really? Isn't that what you Canadians call water?
I've got an idea...

........you gonna be a FLY-uh!
14A2 is on order. Won't be going in bike until late Spring. I want to experience the performance with the stock battery after the 14 comes out of storage and then pop the light weight in so I can get a good comparison. I'll post some pics of the A2 out of the bike in a few days.

Yup, Super Streetbike did a complimentary write up on 'em also. You know when Rook's buying one they got to be OK. Blue 07 you're up next....remember, with a Shore-ray-uh you'll be a play-uh!

You know it was researched to death.....but even that doesn't guaranty something better might not pop up on a few months.
Romans, you having an upgraditis attack?? ....it's just half a pound less.

Like what? We have been stuck with lead-acid batteries with all their quirks for almost 80 years and this new technology just came out in the last few months. What makes you think something better is coming?
