This brings up a question on display, code or failure reporting for traction control. Say for instance safety mode is tripped. Under normal circumstances the safety mode is tripped and power for is cut back. Is there some type or error or warning indicators on display? Now say you flash over safety mode with a full power mode map and saftey mode is tripped..you still have full power, could you still get some type of error code on display????. Because in my car when traction control is activated the traction control warning lite flashes.

No it's a subsystem that operates in the background. It has nothing to do with KTRC and is a HUGE pain in the ass. Brock first found it on the dyno when he got his hands on his first 14R. I guess it was Kawasaki's "Squid Saver" program. I say let natural selection do its thing.

No Lee it's me who has to Thank You. Us Canadians, like allot of the Northern US are stuck in a bit of a deep freeZZZZe. Current Temp -26 Celsius.
I for one comb the threads looking for you guys who just want to go fast and share all knowledge openly. One of Your latest threads was the best open book thread I have ever had the privilege to read and share in. Respect!!! The day you run a 8.39999 you may hear me all the way from the north clapping while standing next to the frozen computer screen. I want the same as we all want. Threads like yours make it all possible.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Romans. And yes, Lee; Thank You! for your dedication, passion, and willingness to share. I learn so much from following threads like this, and many more.
I hope to finally make some 1/4 mile passes on my bike this summer, here in MI. Don't have any real expectations, and I don't care if I go slow. Ive been at the strip a 100's of times on 4 wheels, but never on two. I also hope I'm not reaching for the needle AND the pipe at the same time; with no chance of rehab. lol.
I just want to make safe clean passes, and see how I can improve myself. If I run 12's or 9's, I don't care. But what this will be leading up to, is getting to run the Michigan mile next year. I DO want to see 200, legally.
Keep up the good work, and know that stuff like this is all that's keeping me trudging through winter. The worst we have had in MI since '78. and more snow and cold to come over the weekend.

Well I did hit the 1/4 mile today ... DA 1700 feet ..Gee I thought this was winter ? Temps in the 70s and humidity 97% ... Drove home in fog so thick I could not see 20 feet in front of me ..
Anyway the bike did run 8.48 @ 159 in the air I would call soup ... This was with Brocks / Guhls flash 2 and Brocks pump gas race map in the P/C ... So after I put down the 8.48 pass I swapped out ECUs with Rick Romans Flashed ECU with fueling .. I zero out the P/C map and made some passes ..
God I wish I could tell you it ran faster than ever but my air shifter started missing 3 gear again !!! Damn it !! .. Every time I think I have this damn air shifter working it stop working again .. Same problem as before , it will not shift out of 2 gear into 3 ... It doesn't miss a gear and rev up , it just never comes out of second gear .. I have replaced every thing at least 5 times now ( maybe more ) and it works for a few runs and them bang !! it stops working ..I own the most costly air shifter that ever have been installed on any motorcycle and it still doesn't work ..
All I can say for now about Ricks flash is it worked great for the first 2 gears .. Just using 2 gears and then pulling in the clutch and coasting to finish line I ran a 9.01 @ 120 ...
If I ever get this damn shifter to work I will retry Ricks flash .... That's all for now .

Safety MODE - Agree with Mav, it is an insult to…..
Safety MODE - To flash this out - to my knowledge only a few brothers have this resolved.
Romes - we all want to go fast…That is a certainty, we all do! The unfortunate side bar is it requires $$$!
Smokin, way to tear it up!
Hubs - long time no hear from. How is the OG doing?

Removing Safety mode takes about 3 mins in Woolich Racing Tuned software, you just copy the full power Ignition and STP maps to the Safety mode Ignition and STP maps and write the changes to the ECU and you are done.

True and not true. This takes 3 mins Once and Once only. From here you make it your base bin file. After that step is complete you now have your new starting point. So if you average out the 3 min this now turns into seconds.
That being said, For those of you who want to get into the Woolich for the first time and are a bit nervous, please don't worry. Forums were founded by guys just like you and I who required help. I started by looking to fix the backfire/decell pop & hole in the bottom End power of the Gen 1s, From here I got myself to a hell of a mess lol.(Hub/Ivan's Fault)
Once your in Woolich Software I will always help those who need it. This Will never be a pissing match for me, once that starts we go off Line teach from there. Sending people with knowledge under ground so they don't post is sad fact but it happens. Some of us are more passionate in there beliefs of the perfect set up than others, no biggy. For me I will always be of the belief 1000 brains are better than one. A larger knowledge base from the many helps us all. I hope this helps any of you that are on the fence. It's Not Hard, Promise !
As far as pink Snow Flakes, very curious what you plan to do with it once made lol Can I have one ? Better yet do I need one ?

What Rick said ....Easy if you know about it .. I'd still like a drop down box , simple one click ..

Lee I know this will be the way of it soon as 99.9 % of the guys will want it this way for Ease of use.
The .1%(me)will be praying the drop down box is only a Auto Fill in style for us once the check is placed in the box. Let me explain why by giving you all few ways to look at it.
I have made dozens of flashes. Each with a different purpose in mind. With Woolich this is possible in so many different ways. Amazing really, finally some thing for everyone. All riders Now can use and enjoy the ability to flash not just the hard core like us. Singular focus leaves out so many riders. So what about them ? Who are they ?
1. Drag Racer, with full flash flies open. Now we know AFR table sees the flies open and reflects the fuel changes. Sweet
2. Dual purpose Street slash weekend Drag strip or not at all, just want the most hp when on the gas along with mellow street manners while running the 16/43 gears. Different flash.
3. Full Touring guy. Bar riser saddle bags, Wants serious Gas mileage but does not need the bike being jumpy when at cruzzz with full flies open. You know, sneeze jerk throttle and wife-e rolls off the back. But, if goes over 10% throttle at 75 mph baby girl jumps to attention when it's time to pass the 18 wheeler, No gear down, just wakes up and goes. Different flash Again.
List could go on and on. Saying there is "Only One Flash" limits the endless possibilities, open mind shows us many other uses. I know this to be true because I have built them and have run them all in testing. Flash can become purpose built for the individual rider. Wicked for sure.
All these listed are possible with what we have now. No one flash will suit all those riders. If Justin makes this a simple drop box and not Auto fill in. How will he do it ???? Drag racer only. Touring only ???? Our hands become tied. What if our bikes go slower and we can't adjust for what Justin placed in the hidden info ? You and I both know Woolich goes straight into the dumpster the second ET's drop. His interpretation becomes our law when playing inside ECU.
That check Box may come at a cost. I will work with whatever Justin comes up with but Please just let me see it.

You and I both know Woolich goes straight into the dumpster the second ET's drop.Won't happen. I think Wooly is handcuffed to the ROM he can't change. It's like Justin asking the manu's for every move and then some. So they are not about to reveal what they are handcuffed to is frequency and that ohm'd number. So if your ET drops, it's you not Wooly's box. See it yet?

Hub what I was referring to is how Justin has to build the software for the drop down box. He must decide how or what gets hidden behind the Drop Box. what gets hidden has the possibility to effect us all.

Justin wrote
The factory uses the same approach to develop a fuel map as described before, i.e. test, measure adjust, no magic formulas. No subtitles or comments in a bin file mate, its binary code 0's and 1's super low level. The maps shown in a stock bin file are the maps the came in the ECU from the factory. See it yet?
Not sure I ever really saw that side of it Hub. More like I chose to ignore it for the fear of going crazy. I still look at all these devices as tools that have a specific task to perform. I rate the tools on the results they provide. If a newer, better, more efficient tool arrives we upgrade, which brings us to where we are today Woolich. The computers(02 sensor sniff)are now performing tasks at 65 times a second. Knowing how they do it would be nice but not necessary. In short I paid for a computer to do the work, it better do it. To think man could ever keep up is ??????
See Yet is most likely a No. My way everyone can see, very simple for all. You will always be forced to chose when a task must be performed.

Well, I don't think Justin is going underground. He asked the same question my tuner asked... 'Where am I going with this?'
I took things apart as a kid. I guess I'm doing the same thing over again. Page 16-73. I have a deeper understanding what happens inside that 0 to 5v range. I have a deeper understanding what that square wave is doing as in sends as a signal. It makes me read the book in between the lines.
Not sure I ever really saw that side of it Hub.
I can only speak to a select few who understand the tuning process. I'm trying to get there, but I'm taking a different path to it. Justin says, 'super low level' that term means I have no clue what he's talking about, I've seen the other book use that term and how to write it, so I'm getting there slowly. I want to savor that part. What can I do with it anyway? I'm not going to program, I'm watching a few steps and I'm done.
It means, there is nothing for me there. But to see the tossing of the product against the 60 defaults to 50, that kind of info in the book is gold. That means how to diagnose Justin's product from your cell moving the Boolean too far and triggers it. Just one example of a trigger point. There's a lot more math tables, but you get the process begins to stumble into the 'best possible' tossing the 'don't care' for your cell move limps to 50. That to me is a sweet variable to remember messing inside.

Hub what I was referring to is how Justin has to build the software for the drop down box. That's Justin's expertise. He can tell you if it's doable. I envy the guy and pity the guy at the same time. Trying to keep up and within 18 months the tech leaps and his product has to keep up. 65 times the speed becomes 100 times the speed down the road.
I think it's writable without defaulting to a 60/50 hit you mean? Hit Ctrl + U. That's what I think Justin is a master of. Types like a bandit. That's programming I believe the machine understands and converts to bi to make your drilldown do an action, send data to so and so, etc.
