Congrats on the new bike .... it's beautiful.
I remember the two test rides in dealerships I went on.
2014 Gen 2 flat black and red, power turned down, traction control turned up.
Felt right as soon as I sat on it. No chance to really ride it properly, but she felt good.
Then a few months later a 2008 Gen 1, special ed paint, red/black, nearly bought that one bu they would not play ball on price. That ride was awesome, but also terrifying, as I remember the rush at above 5 grand and then the eye squashing acceleration above 7 grand.
I though to myself how will I ever harness power like this ?
I've now owned my 2010 for 8 weeks and put nearly 8000km on it, explored the throttle carefully, especially in less than perfect conditions.
Today I rode to work (about 10km) putted along never got out of 3rd gear or above 3500 RPM what a lovely calm commute, or if you fancy you can do 180km @ around 10000 RPM in third and get there frigging quick.
I can not imagine a more rounded and capable machine.
