I guess I'm having trouble reasoning how this poll belongs on this forum, or any other, for that matter. In keeping with that mindset, in that kind of world, why were cars such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche even made? Sorry, I just think this poll is retarded.

they can all do 200 mph from a 600 cc and up anyway
i bought mine for comfort and weight on the highway
also if you ever need the power it is there for you
my motto..............better to have and not need than to need and not have :)

Hmm...good poll question! My answer is yes! Just because you can speed doesn't mean you have to, i.e. just because you own a gun doesn't mean you are going to be a killer, but it's good to know you can IF you have to, speed that is!

Definately better to have the power for many reasons mate, get outa trouble,tour/2/up,comfort,besides speed restrictions haven,t keept up with the advancement of technological advances since they were originaly laid out,ie drum brakes etc.

We all speed! The question is how do you speed and where. Jumping in and out of cars in traffic, not cool! Yeah in perfect conditions nice open roads where you can see where your going. Now that's speeding! Maybe even a get out of jail free card would be nice...

No matter what you buy If you are anything like me...Its not going to stay stock and will always break speedlimits. It got so bad. here we decided to buy helix scooters to slow us and ended up big bored with nitrous and bump drafting.bwhahaha.
Its always necessary to have somethig with way more power than you ever need.
be no not needed if you really are going to obey all speed laws buy a 50cc aprillia and be happy.

My first bike was a 2001 ninja 500. It would do 120 something stock. So I guess 500 is to big to own?? With my 500 I HAD to race anyone that rev'd their engine. I don't have to now, I know the outcome before I put my helmet on.

I have had every rocketship Kawasaki has made, beginning with the H1 when it was the fastest thing on public streets with two wheels in the world.
I've drag raced a punched out and stroked Z1 and done 9 second quarters. In 1974 that was something. The bike ran on pump gas and was street legal (sort of).
So now I have a ZX14. Sorry, some of you might have been blown away by the power and speed of the ZX14 but I wasn't. Been there, done that.
My modified ZX11 made more horsepower.
The point is, I have not once gotten a speeding ticket. Around town, I'm Mr. Cool and Mr. Blue watches me but leaves me alone. I've even gotten thumbs up at a light from a gumball machine who's badge liked the sweet sound of my CT-Duals.
But I ain't blowin' smoke, I have cracked her hard enough to carry the wheel in 3 gears, much to the chagrin of my very Harley and very conservative MC.
Its all in knowing when its clear and when its not. And that has far less to do with whether the man could be around the bend than many of you think.
Let me put it this way. Run her out into the 3 digits and take your chances. If you manage to do it for 42 years without getting a speeding ticket (and without getting killed) then you probably developed a healthy dose of common sense combined with a sixth sense to know when to let loose the ponies.
And besides, I could get t-boned at a red light by a drunk driver tomorrow, and all of this would still be true. Heh

I obey the speed limit laws. What better machine to cruise through these tiny little hamlets and towns...lookin badass and ready to rumble.Weeeeeee!Get more thumbs up from the people here than on a weak azz harley! The sheer grace and style of the 14 demands respect.
Oh,geez, the question was...is it worth it IF yer gonna obey the speed laws...no one said....WHICH speed laws. And where .
"95 was the ROUTE you were on,it was NOT the speed limit sign".....Jim Croche..."Speedball Tucker".

I apply a simple rule beyond what I wrote, above.
My American Legion Riders small pewter bell hangs under the radiator.
The caption on the bell reads :
"NEVER RIDE FASTER THAN YOUR ANGEL CAN FLY"
Amen, brothers.

privateer, I use that saying as my signature on another forum.
My sister-in-law gave me something with that on in except in German the first time I deployed to Iraq. Funny thing was that I used to brief my soldiers that the speed limit in Baghdad was "haul @$$"

I was serving as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, when we developed what has since become standard in an ambush: haul ass and drive out of it.
Since then, the enemy has changed drastically, and gotten very much more tactically sophisticated.
I get deep pains for you young vets in convoys and patrols in OIF and OEF because a lot of times you can't drive out of it, because a vehicle gets hit by an IED of so much power that it stops the convoy. Well, and because they don't send you out with enough firepower and cover.
I salute you. My Angel bell came from the American Legion, Legion Riders section of Flag & Emblem website.

Basically I'm a 45 year old boy, I got older but never grew up. Don't get me wrong I am a responsible citizen but I love having fun and in western Australia we have a lot of wide open spaces. Some people like to go for relaxed Sunday drives in the country whereas I prefer a less relaxed fang in the back blocks
