I ran the pp 2ct on my zrx and loved them. I switched over to the Pirelli Diablo Corsa III on the 14 and I have had no problems. I would recommend either.

I have been very happy with the BT016 tires, but from all the praise above for pirelli strada's, I think I will try them next.

I managed to put on about 100 mile sthis past Sunday on the new Pilot Road II's and I'm pleased overall. I have never ridden my bike with fresh tires, only the worn OEM bt's that were on it so to say that the initial impression was drastic is an understatement. The turn in is effortless now. Actually, I had hard time holding a line in a lane at highway speeds+ because it takes so little effort to change course. I'll get used to it I'm sure. I didn't get in any major lean angles (S.Florida = few turns) but straight line traction is great. No wheelspin or suprises. I'm looking forward to hitting the track with them to see how dual purpose that can be. I'll report back again when I have some more to share.

Pilot Power. Have a set I'm getting mounted on Tuesday. I was sold on them after my buddy's Ducati would wheelie in the rain on them, and you could feel twice as much heat in his rear tire after a ride. The stock Bridgestone units they put on these bikes are junk IMO.

I've put 2500 miles on the road 2's and have to say i love them. So far the best wearing tire I've run on the 14 and plenty of grip. I was used to the power's on the track but couldn't get decent mileage out them on the 14. I'll continue running the 2's.

Run low enough tire pressures and you can get just about any tire to do this. If you drop the rear pressure on the road 2's to about 34 they'll get so sticky and hot it'll P/U any gravel on the road and hold on to it. (provided you ride it at a hard fast clip)

I'm happy with the Dunlop Roadsmarts myself. Love the neutral profile! Got seven Thousand on the rear so far. Only got five out of the front, but not complaining. Cheaper to replace the front. Looks like i can still get another oil change out of the rear though; maybe more. Not that I ride very hard, but I have no worries in the corners. Also they're very stable at high and low speeds! No problems in the rain.

Hi all,

it is time (3200 miles) to replace the rear stock tire (BT014) of my 2008 ZX14;

I've been told that BT014 has been replaced with BT016; since the front tire is still in good shape
I was thinking to replace just the rear with a BT016. Has anybody tried this combination (014 front, 016 rear)?
If yes how did they perform?

Thanks,
Marco

BT-21's

BT-21's practically look fresh after well over 2k miles, if not getting close to 3K. This is my 3rd set of tires (B-16's being the other 2 sets), where the bike reads 9.5K on the speedo. The OEM's sure feel more confident inspiring. Plus, these are much heavier tires and adds weight to the bike until you get use to the everyday ride.

I went with BT016s all around. If you like to corner hard, I wouldn't recommend the stock tire up front with the BT016 in back. The front won't have near as much grab when you are leaned over and that could easily lead to big trouble. bt016 190/55/17 will give you a lot more contact patch on the side for cornering than the stock 190/50/17. The difference is pretty remarkable.

If you like straightline riding, you might consider leaving the front until it wears out more. If straightline is your style, I don't think the BT016 is going to do you much better with traction or ware than the stock tire. All the sticky is out to the edges on the BT016 and the center tread is perhaps only slightly more sticky than the stock tire.

Avon Storms are a popular choice for long ware.
