I can't imagine ANYONE doing this to their ride.So I think 9seconds is being on the level when he says the dogs did it.I didn't think anyone could hotwire and ride away with a locked front fork on my 2000 Heritage softail either...but they did.So just HOW did they manage to get past the fork lock....hhhmmmmm......homemade barrel key?Maybe the SAME one they used to get the ignition to turn?I noticed one day...that fork lock thing...had a serious scratch across it.It's hardened steel. You can't "just scratch" that thing with any type of "key".I never did anything to that lock.Never touched it except to put my barrel key in it to lock/unlock.I thought at the time.."this is weird.how the hell did I scratch that?"Truth is...I didn't.But someone else did.As I found out later. When I heard my bike being ridden balls out away from my shed...and gone! It's quite a story this one.And honestly, virtually unbelievable to the average Joe.There's some slippery snakes out there, that's all I'm sayin.
9 said it was in the walkway or something like that.Ya...mine was sitting RIGHT UNDER MY LIVINGROOM WINDOW(shades were drawn...it was night) in the driveway. So they had to somehow unlock the forks, then BACK the bike out to the street, and start it with NO second attempt....first starter try...that was it.They were gone.HOW does that happen without some sort of key involved?Especially when they had no way of knowing IF someone right there would be walking around...as people did there.
I asked my neighbor across the way if he saw anything....this was like at 2 in the morning. His response?"yeah,I saw 'someone' in black, with a black helmet ride off"...nice.Kinda ruined the whole "harley thing" for me.Got paid from the insurance...got my first Sportbike...zzr1200.It all worked out JUST FINE!!!
