Wait, there's more.

IAP Fuel Maps ~ Yes = Run the limp set ~ No = Cannot move cells, just the method
TPS Fuel Maps ~ Yes = Same method but see all this leading to the outside?
Ignition Maps ~ No = When I cell an ignition, my assumption is the cam and crank are within phase is the math.
Secondary Throttle Plate (STP) Opening Maps ~ Yes = The wire hack to the gps. The subs removed and stepper too.
Fuel Trim Maps ~ No = need the cell grids to replot.
Adjust RPM Limiters ~ Yes = Go to the dash program and click 11,000 rpm as the shift light.
Disable Top Speed Limiter ~ Yes = Same as remove said gps/peed sensor wire(s).
Disable Stock O2 Sensor ~ No = In a way, yes, but in a way no.

Ign map = The muzzy plate still does not phase in the cam square wave so it's more a window close to or is in 'method' you went too far.

Fuel Trim Maps = Is this each cylinder map? Or if not, what is meant by trim and where to whom? And if this is a rich/lean scenario and/or idle maps, then still no.

Disable 02 = This could be rewired to an IAP if we have wire in and wire out. The rest are heater wires, if say it's a 4 wire 02 sensor for that wire in wire out to the heater core.

So some of this is accessed via 'outside' but with the dancing code present. YOu more or less can see Ivan's map or Brocks if you ship them out and oh like it's really something you can't improve on or can you?

2009 ZX14
Fuel trim is a table with numbers from 0-100 (I'm guessing they are percentages)
There are 6 tables - 1 for each gear. There is no Neutral trim table.

For 4th - 6th all cells are 100 - I'm guessing that means no fuel cut.
For 1st and 2nd the tables are the same.
Fuel cut starts at 59% TPS and cuts fuel in various amounts for RPM under 6500.
Graphically it looks like this:

For 3rd it is different. Fuel cut starts at 78% TPS.

It will be a simple change to make all cells = 100 and effectively remove this restriction.

I was expecting a similar set of tables for ignition, but not there...

What about idle maps? And are we saying that the fuel trims are the cut maps? In other words, from cut [soft] is 18 AFR and the cut [hard] is 16.5 AFR in 'stock trim.' In other words, where are we reading the abstract of what 'fuel trim' means?

I don't know who's drawn up those diagrams to rep what, but is the programmer around to know how he is using what example for what area?

You mess with lift maps [IAP's] it says, 'for every action you go rich, I go lean.' Kind of a scale in the math of it. And when you change fuel pressure, compression, and injectors just to name a few, this now goes over my head and formula the math to fuel pressure is squared to the compression vs. the timing and I'm going to divide injector timing withe whole mess is all about getting it write with the cells.

It boils down to detonate my lean man how'die due is a new engine. LOL

2012-13 ZX-14 models have Zero settings changed in the fuel trim, all are 100% in all gears. I can't make sense of why kawi did what they did with regards to the where and when in the TPS of the early models.

If this was done for emissions control then the question would be, why bring it back to 100% between the two areas that were cut ?

IAP Fuel Maps
TPS Fuel Maps
Ignition Maps
STP Maps
Injector Balance Maps
Ram Air Maps
Steering Damper Maps
RPM Limiters
Top Speed Limiters
Disable Stock O2 Sensor
Enabled Wideband O2
Fast Data Logging
Fan Temp

Ram air Maps for that left service door.
D-am is for every sensor dare is a mapissing contest.
Enable my pee see that?
Fast data logging = Yeah, are we some sort of 'learn system?' I'll remember my data and smooth out the next wheelie?

Wooly, I took this off your website. http://www.woolichracing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=1622&sid=7f5e2b62495d532c8f3cf8c45c459a2e

Do you have someone, or are you the one digging at the chip or whatever you keep finding? Ram maps? How about the second IAP on the 14R? You figure if there is a map, show me the sensor is my guess?

Here we go. You specializeyespecialize. I wish I was following [use is guys] learning progress and what map and how you are figuring 100% goes where?

If you're confused, I'm getting confused if I read 100% cut @ 16.5; and running all stock no codes @ 18 AFR. To me, it says 100% no matter the year is how you have to follow the math? It's formula. You figure out the formula, shadda boom budda bing!

Why bring it back to the two areas that were cut? Are we talking the 60mhz split? The 'method?' The CUT?

Not sure how you are looking at this Hub. If each fuel cell has a given amount of fuel then that is the constant in the map and will never change. If you remove fuel pressure, then the amount of fuel sent will also change to be greater than or less depending, but not the number. Why 4 you hurting my head again ?

It boils down to detonate my lean man how'die due is a new engine. LOL

We will have None of that. This tech is a tuners dream.

I currently have four test maps made. One is full race out which includes timing advance, back fire fixed, top speed limiters removed, secondary plates open at 3000 safety mode removed, the works,,,,, You First me tinks, where is your ECU,,,,, batter up lol

All this I could only do before with four pigs and even then was always a little scared of how information sent after the ECU would be translated in real time. I have much less fear now than I ever had. Love this stuff Justin needs a Hug Lol.

Wish list = Would love it if there was a sensor input adjustment in the ECU where wheel speed is tacked. Pot for sensitivity maybe in there somewhere ????????????????

We all know there has been reported issues with the 2012,13 bike stumbling after sprocket changes. No one to date has located exact cause or a fix. Not to mention this may Eliminate the need for a speedo healer,,,,Gone is another pig.

Timing advanced = The tre trick
Back fire fixed = I fixed that on that video is no change with the R is radio my shack
Top speed limiter = It's either on or off is the formula and again at a sensor's wire disable mable
Secondary plates = HA! Home he can locker up. Home he can remove plate. Home run is 'compton' my stepper motor
My 11000 is a button away.

I'm going to sell my bike(s) and have some disposable soon. I need a hobbya baby hugs to Wooly!

If each fuel cell has a given amount of fuel then that is the constant in the map and will never change.

I see a blank map. I see pounds of weight. I up or lower proportion I make a chemical reaction.
I start with cc size [rebore] times compression [I run a thinner gasket] is volume [12:1 ratio] is raised and now how do I find the correct fuel injector [jet size] fpm in the formula? My bore needs this much fuel per minute times, now I plot a blank map.

So what I'm saying is that is bike has a different compression ratio. This bike has different injectors. This bike is running one more IAP sensor and I could probably guess you do not want to run a first gen map into a second gen with different compression and injector combinations and I have yet to understand how this 100% in each gear would not mean what I'm sort of seeing in the 'generic' of it?

That means the map you are looking at has to be brought down and rehung with this new round of chemicals vs. heat vs. compression vs. ???

I never thought I would get horny listening to Romes and Hub talk ,If I have a custom map do I take that map and fine tune it .Are we smoothing out the air/fuel ratio? On the 12r power is so smooth already can we get more power and retain the smoothness

Yes. There is this 'best rich torque' that sort of smooths out the engine even more. I had the bike running rich and could light the back wheel up on my '08. White painted lines were not to be accelerated off of. I made that mistake too. Lots of bottom [effortless] torque with this bike if you want more grunt.

You could have Wooly walk you thru the locking undu, see Ivan's setup? Work off of that or see how he plots for smoothing?

RE: Ivan Guhl Brock ECU Flash

The math is pretty obvious.
fuel = lookup( rpm, TPS ) + lookup( rpm, IAP);
fuel = fuel * lookup_trim( rpm, TPS, gear ) / 100;

fuel will be microseconds to squirt injector. Might be a scaling factor hidden in the code so they could change fuel pressure or injectors easily.

There is no 18 = analog, 16.5 = method hub, where are you getting that?
The ECU is just looking up numbers, turning on spark and fuel.
Someone sat there in the factory and tuned these numbers on a dyno.
Once they had the engine running they just adjusted up down to get the results they wanted.
They had different required results than we do, so we adjust the numbers for out requirements.
No cats, better pipe, bigger balls, no safety etc...

As Romans said, WTF were they thinking with the trim maps?
So far it looks like they didn't use fuel or spark tables per gear in the 2008-2011 models, but we know the TRE works, so it must adjust fuel (and probably spark) by gear. So it will be in the code, as a set of offsets somewhere.

Theoretically, if all of the code in the ECU was reverse engineered so you could reveal all the things they control (like the temp for the fan, the signals to the meter cluster, the cold start settings etc) you could put the 2012 code into the 2011 ECU, but you would have a shitload of coding to do and in reality it will be cheaper to pony up for 14R. I used to build control systems for a living. That ECU code will be a rats nest of bug fixes, dirty hacks and 'clever' logic. Mr Wooly is a freaking legend just to decipher the machine code.

Justin has opened Pandora's box. Tuners dream. Tread carefully.

Depends on what changes you make, if you are opening up secondary throttles earlier and changing ignition maps etc, then a re tune could be on the cards. but if you are just making some small mods you could continue to run your current setup.

Factory shop manual. Pg. 3-44, or I'll read between the lines. Pg 3-43 says; 'We take measures at the top of the page. Page 3-44 at the bottom of the page say we are handcuffed to the 1ATMO slow here you go.'

oz, It is my understanding about 60 minutes is the math. 60mhz is the handcuffing to make a computer act the carb. That is the basic formula is how I read the shop manual. I am reading [between the lines], or that book is useless to one. It's that simple, that complex.

I have an AFR meter video and on lift; I trigger two settings on or off. On the outsidengineeringonelseware, I was matching wire for wire, code for code are the 3wV's; the 3amigos; the 3Ti and we are not tied in but down to the crank/cam/ECU is how you get home. I can get home with just the crank and ECU. But if I stall once? It's over! We see that one saved value still running?

Wooly schooled me is how I school myself. It simply says I make map, I install a sensor to make mapee forum is how I read the ECU. Justin needs to find more map'inn the hack'innside.

Keep digging, Wooly

Justin I purchased your software for the Gen 2. Now the ECU adapter plug is not a match. How do I buy just the proper adapter harness ????? Or do I have to buy Every thing Again ? Help.

On your site shows like this

2008-2011 Kawasaki ZX14 USB Interface and Bench Harness Package This package includes everything you need to start tuning your 2008-2011 Kawasaki ZX14 with our Mitsubishi USB Interface.
Mitsubishi USB Interface
Kawasaki Type 5 Bench Harness
USB Cable
Bin File Definition in the Woolich Racing Tuned software

Bin File Definition Features (click link/s below)
Kawasaki ZX14 2008-2011
IAP Fuel Maps
TPS Fuel Maps
Ignition Maps
Secondary Throttle Plate (STP) Opening Maps
Fuel Trim Maps
Adjust RPM Limiters
Disable Stock O2 Sensor

What is throwing me off is this Quote shown below. Type 5 for 2006-2007 ???? Should this be 2006-2011. I assume this is a typo as the ECU is same but software is different. Please Claify before I spend my way into a corner,,,,

Kawasaki Bench Harness Type 5 The bench flashing harness allows you to flash 2006-2007 ZX10R and 2006-2007 ZX14 ECUs when they are both installed or not installed in the bike. The bench flashing harness comes with a 12v power supply plug and needs to be used in conjunction with the Woolich Racing Mitsubishi USB Interface.

So far it looks like they didn't use fuel or spark tables per gear in the 2008-2011 models, but we know the TRE works, so it must adjust fuel (and probably spark) by gear.
It goes like this. I also took a circular saw, bored a hole thru the crank cover, unscrewed my compression tester cover to get the glass out, used this for a window and yes, my '08 did change in degree timing for some gears. I have that too on video.

So it will be in the code, as a set of offsets somewhere.
So if say you have 3 wire variables that are not connected(1), wire out of connector(2), and last is the wire is out of range(3) ding-ding-ding-Out of range for 100ohms, Alex.

I think we found the wires connected, no wire out of the connectors, but it sent in the wrong signal that happens to be out of range is narrow it down like the 3amigos you only have one variable popping up or popping fuse. So did the tre meet and greet a signal out of range? Yes.

Did the computer take safety actions? Yes. Did it jerk the ignition all as one setting for all gears? Whereas if in analog, the signal is square to go? Yes. Was the gps in many resistances? Yes. Has the tre used one resistor as in a digital signal is now out of range? Yes. Did it send the 6 to the dash as universal as 1999? Yes.

Are we seeing many tone wheel changes thru the gears as in different timing degrees? Yes. It is load based? I think so? Is it for detonation/pre-ignition saving? Possibly [IF] you think is air conditioning vs. IAP loads, then yes.

Sorry Romans, that was a typo, based on what you have already purchased you will just need the Kawasaki Type 5 Harness. Your existing interface will work with the Type 5 Harness for the 2006-2011 ZX14 ECU.

Justin unlocked my ECU - read it just now - thank you

Now the interesting news - using WRT and comparing to a stock bin file....
THE ONLY VISIBLE CHANGE IS THE STP TABLE
I could have got a bigger change by pulling the flies.

The rev limit has been increased (I actually asked it be left stock, I haven't improved the engine to make it take higher revs, I'm happy to live with Kawasaki's limit...)

I asked to have the closed throttle fuel cut removed - and was told it was done. It feels different.
It has reinforced my opinion that the 2008-2011 models actually have a non-table way of adjusting fuel per gear.

OK Romans - you've had a play with the new toys.
What you think of this idea....

Get the PCV map that I built with Autotune (ignoring the 0 TPS column, cause we don't need it )

PCV maps are in %change. So we goto the equivalent cells in out ECU fuel map and use the WRT % adjust button and apply the same. Then we use the graph view to "smooth" out the bumps. Viola... my piggy lost its tail.

What say ye, yah or nah?

Love this shit!!
