I just thought I should introduce myself to everyone. I recently bought an 06 zx14 off ebay for $5500 bucks sight unseen. I read a lot about these bikes on this and other zx forums before buying, which helped me to be confident in my decision before buying. Thanks to all of you for that!

Anyway, my last bike was a DL1000 and after 3 years on it I decided I needed to get something more exciting before I got too old - so I went for the baddest bike I could find. Seriously though - I really chose the 14 for its touring capabilities as that is what I really like to do (didn't want a dedicated ST bike, wanted to build my own contraption somewhat - not to mention the price of those). The limitless power helps too. Ive started farkling this winter by adding convertibars, buell pegs, and a ZG ST windscreen. Im about to order a Russell Saddle and might build some custom aluminum saddlebags (I know - its a sportbike why would anyone put aluminum saddle bags on one). To be honest I guess function is far more important to me than looking "super cool" on my "totally rad" 14.

I guess enough about me and my bike. Glad to be a part of this forum - ive found lots of good info and ideas already.

BG - the bike has just over 4000 miles. Came with a full Muzzy system and supposedly a PC, but I haven't found the box yet. Previous owner said it had been "professionally tuned" by a dynojet certified technician or something like that. All I know is - it goes like a raped ape and sounds pretty cool too.

Welcome fowler.

If you have a PC, no matter where the module was positioned ,it would have to be connected to the main wiring harness with two cube shaped plugs. They are about 1" on each face. The connection point is right behind the throttle bodies. Find those plugs and follow the wire. Check out my photos in How-Tos. PC5 underseat install.

Rook - found the PC. Was taking fairing off to find a place to put my Audiovox cruise and it was behind there. Happens to be a PC3 I guess - dont really know much about it so Im gonna have to do some research.

xxxses - Ya, im sure whatever I do with the saddlebags it'll look funny. The 14, in my opinion, doesnt really look to good with luggage, but Im willing to overlook it for the storage on long trips. They wont be on all the time for sure. I plan on hopefully making some kind of contoured bags that hug the bike, but they still probably wont look right. We'll see, Ive got a few more winter months to get them done. Im sure it will be interesting.

Thanks for all the replies - good to be part of the forum!
