Bridgestone Tires
03/24/15 5:22 PM

I've been running s20's. Sticky but short tire life. A few of my fast riding buddies like the bt016. There cheaper than the s20's. So i decided to get a set. Came across this unreal deal. Buy a set and get a $40 Gift card. $85 for the front $120 for the rear. $205 and then a $40 Gift card. $165 for a set. Wow!

So went and ripped thru the hills to see how these bt016 work. Omg, sticky sticky. Railed faster than ever before. I'm a fan!

It's been a few years since i had those but they were my favorites. I love the Pirelli Super Corsas but for the money, I'm not so sure they are all that much better than the Bt016. I think I will try those again my next tire change just to get a more accurate comparison. I can say this, my street chicken strips were smallest they ever got with the BT016. I was riding fast all the time then too so i was in good practice but I do remember feeling those tires were sticking very reliably the whole time I had them.

I don't recall being that much more impressed with the BT-003 than the BT-016. The 003 is a more track oriented tire. It might just be that BT-016s are softer at lower temps than track tires and perhaps they get too soft on the edges for track riding. I think I heard that from DOgozx14 if you remember that guy. He got heavily into track riding his ZX-10 and sorta ditched us.

I have no strips at all. Never done that before. I was able to give it so much gas going through the sweepers. Damn near kept touching a knee down. The s20's would start to slip when pushed that hard. Plus there is nothing like a fresh 55 profile tire. Feels like you can lean for days.

I had the Stones BT-016 on my '06 when I bought the bike and I hated them, they were like rocks compared to the Mich 2CTs I ended up loving. I have the S20s on the BBW and I like them, have not had the oppertunity to push them yet but have a track day coming up in a few weeks

Update:Tire life out of my set of Bridgestone bt-016

Front: 4k miles
Rear: 2,500k miles

Shorter life than my previous s20's. Was going to go with Pr4's but was getting my suspension setup @ at Catalysts Reaction Tuning. Owner Tim recommend Bridgestone T30 GT. He says he got 5 track days and 3k miles on them. They are a lot cheaper than the Pr4's. So my cheap side will give them a try.

Anyone ever try the Bridgestone Battleax T30's?
