I just joined and have not seen any "bike of the month" contest or anything? It would be cool to get some pics up of some of the badass 14's on here.

As far as I know, we have never done that sort of thing.

Part of the value of this forum, which makes it the best, is there are widely divergent opinions, experiences, uses, and knowledge represented by its members.

My guess is "bike of the month" would be moot point and draw little interest.

For one thing, we might value some bling for bling's sake. Like a couple have sick LED lighting at least at stage 2 trim, or higher. Some, like me, have replaced ALL the plastic with carbon fiber. I have over $20,000 in my bike but it is only bike of the month to me, the only one that matters.

We have real honest to god drag racers, and avid track day riders. We have a crazy person who will completely befuddle you, some soldiers, a police officer or two, old people, young people.

I can only speak for myself, but I come here to learn, to share experience and knowledge, and enjoy the diversity. But I'm not interested in picking a bike of the month.

Others might be. Thats why this forum rocks.

I come to forums like this to get knowledge and ideas for my bike. A contest would give the opportunity to post pics and share ideas. Some people would not show their bikes otherwise. I like the fact that the 14 has several different followings. I respect all of them.

Can't make me. Seriously. It was done on the original, for lack of a better word, forum for a bit. Not much interest. Most of the group from that forum are the ones here.

Hope that answered your question a bit "more" in-depth.

Too easy...it was a thought. This forum does not have alot of active posters...it was an idea to drum up some activity.

I can see his frustration. There isn't much visually going on here. You get a million pics of Beans bike(which is beatuifull), and also Dogo's(inspirational), and a lot of pieces and parts on Rook's scales, but most others are either being stingy or lazy with their pics. Maybe a little more encouragement for the lazy people to learn how to get a photobucket account lol

I'm going to agree with edgecrusher there is no where near enough pictures and vids posted on this site. And there is not much activity at all. I think a bike of the month or some kind of competion would get more members involved on the site and get our post counts up.

When we had bike of the Month on the old forum I 4 one did like to go check out what all the guys were doing to their bikes. Now, when curious I look here at ZX-14 pictures. I too wish this section got more attention.

1 million of beans bike Only because of this Damn now!1,000,001 1,000,002 ha ha Hey bros now being serious the pictures section show me your bike has helped give me some good insperation,but considering the amount of members here plus the big personal changes to the bikes why not just have in the General area a sticky for "your latest pics" it may encourage more members to show off their Pride n joy, plus give all our Soldiers overseas a bit more to escape from and for some to dream about and look forward too,besides I like seeing everyones bikes too! and I know theirs heaps more that aint posted all in ONE popular single post section.

Yea that would work too. The picture section is hard to look through maybe put everyones pictures of there bikes in one thread that way you could just go through page by page.

We have "best looking" threads on 10r.net for each gen and its nice to look at all the ways people take diffrent approaches to moding your style of motorcyle. wether they decide to make more of a touring bike a drag bike a track bike or just a street bike.

Just my opinion maybe yall don't want the site to get bigger and If thats what the main members want that would be good too

Just doesn't hurt to throw Ideas out there. I don't look at the pictures here much. but on the 10r.net site I make sure I look everyday Just becuase there are more people wanting to show off there trackday rides and there drag pulls. or even dyno runs. just doesn't seem like that kind of traffic is wanted here.

Why are all the new people around here tryin to tell everyone what this site needs to do? Why do you want five zx forums that are all the same??? Gods I hate conformists!

I don't use any other motorcycle forums but the COG forum, and that only to keep up with planned events. So I have nothing to compare this forum to.

I don't want to see dozens of pictures of the same bike, each showing nothing new, in any section other than Pictures. Frankly, some of the picture series are flat out boring. Just one more ZX14.

I don't appreciate chrome and stretched swingarms like some of you, and I have the same attitude towards them as I had towards the guy that brought his trailer queen bike, and enclosed trailer, to the COG Rally in Wellsboro PA last week. If thats what he wants, its ok with me. But I am not riding with him in the mountains where he could screw up and kill me.

Pictures of modifications, like when the PC5 install series was posted, those rock. Pictures taken at rallies and events, those are cool.

But repetitive posting of nothing special gets old.

Pictures of someone mounting a GPS? Pulllleasseeeee, not again.

Pictures of Ohlins forks and shocks and Brembo brakes and BST or Marchesini wheels? YES !

This is like a 24 hour, open road, no cops, no one to critique your bike's setup, the tune, the endless mods, the whatever you want to do is go for it.

If you had a problem with your bike, too lazy to search, just rather not waste time, have no time, but the bike is doing something funny... Would you have this luxury not to search. Say whatever you want no matter how many oil/mod/fan installs are just as peppered with bikes and pipes? How cool is that?

I understand what priv is saying but self regulating the amount of "THREE ONLY" in the most popular section will get all sorts of extra ideas, priv we all have likes and dislikes just cause I don't drag OR ? doesn't mean to say I don't appreciate other bros ideas, it's not as though your forced to look at them! plus we know this Site is no. 1 so why not be like the mighty ZX1400 and show where No. 1 in all areas around the GLOBE .
