I HATE working on the 14, but I LOVE riding it, so its going to be around for a long long time.......thats why it got the turbo

Pretty sure that the Hindle race I put on my 10 is exactly the same as a Brock's, 1Bad. The Hindle I put on my 14 is.
OK well not exactly the same... I don't get map support... but I only paid $250 for the Hindle. Fortunately, the guys on zx-10r. net are willing to share maps.

HEY BAD, I PMed you a couple times on other issues than we are talking here. Did you recieve them? PMs from this forum show up on your email page, not the forum itself.

Wanted to let you know there are pics of my stripe job in ZX14 pics forum. Also had a question about reader software for pdf Service Manual I have.

Good advice B in B, CBR's a keeper so I'll prolly order the Sato today. It was down to Sato or Akropovic but I think Sato gets the nod. It's a very light system being all Titanium and to match it I'd have to go with the Akropovic Evo Titanium system which is about $1800. The pipe prolly won't make me any faster but it'll sure make me feel faster i.e. Big Grin Factor.

Oh well, I lied. The U.S. distributor Kyle Racing is sold out of the Sato's and Sato Racing has discontinued production of this model. The Akropovic Titanium was next on the list but the cheapest deal I could find on one was about $1800. So I went with a Yoshimura Full System in stainless w/carbon fiber canister for $899 + free shipping. From the Yoshimura R&D site I found the performance graphs and the pipe gives about 8 hp at the rear wheel increase with good midrange gains beginning at 4000 rpm. The Akro gave about 10 hp and the Sato a whopping 13 but at a price.... $1500. The Yoshi is a little down on go compared to the other two and a little heavier but for the difference in price I can buy the PCIII and a custom remap so it's all good.

I just put a stainless full system on my busa......I was VERY impressed with the power AND delivery. I lost a little below 5 grand (which I expected going from the duals), but at 5 and up it hits HARD....and keeps pulling hard all the way to redline It has a very nice power delivery for a 4-2-1 system. Yoshimura claims they work on a broad spread of power + peak gains....and I believe it The Viper race cans/pc/filter I put on the busa gave a nice noticeable boost in power....I honestly didn't expect that much more from the full yoshi...boy was I wrong. And it retained alot more of the low and midrange grunt than I expected. And it also weighed wayy less than I was expecting as well, + I dropped a TON of noticeable weight off the bike. IMO yoshi makes the best bang for the buck street pipe out there.......and their customer service is awesome

like the guy said .. kruz you don't know shitt about motorcycles and even less about racing .. but you sure can type and pull up rag reviews .. just like your almighty sato pipe .. with all the thousands of bikes at the track i haven't even seen a sato pipe at the track .. much less 1 racing ...but it makes a good poser point i guess..

BUT SOME OF US DO HAVE HOBBYS ..and its not drinking coffee at starbucks and reading about racing ..

now put ur money up (well my money after the racing ) and bring your ass to the track and watch me dominate..

cause you the 1 that open your pie hole that i'm nothing but a whooping child.. and now your CRAWFISHING ,BACK PEDDLEING , CALLING IT PLAY GROUND CHILDISHNESS .. But you sure can type bullshitt

I looked it up on Yoshi's web site and you're good for about +10 Hp over stock. They're showing +8 over stock on the CBR so I'm hopeful this is going to be a noticeable boost. Big thing to me is smoothness of power and good midrange with more topend a plus, if I lose a little on the bottom but gain in smoothness and the mid to top end kick is much better I'll be happy. Whose map are you running? That should put your Busa up close to your ZX-14 now in over all kick.

It is nice, I'm just wondering why the torque inversion at 3200 rpm? Must be a harmonic in the pipe. Another thing I'm wondering about is, are these curves Yoshi publishes with stock mapping or custom mapping? Akropovic claims all their published curves are with stock ECU mapping so theirs prolly a lot more to be gained in overall smoothness with the right map.

Here's a shocker, R-77 full system on the 14 vs TRC slipons. Slipons have better low end and only lose 2 hp on top. Maybe Ivan wasn't lying afterall when he said the Yoshi slipons were a better deal!

Yep Big K with the gearing and full yoshi on the busa its as quick as the 14 with 1 tooth up in back/slip-ons/Ivans map/BMC race/flies out/tre. In other words its finally quick lol. But in another week or so the busa gets relegated back to 2nd fastest....poor busa
I think you'll def notice, and be very happy with the diff the full yosh makes on your cbr....it'll make an already fun bike feel like somebody just snapped its *ss with a towel when you twist the throttle The busa dyno chart pretty much shows how it feels....a little softer down low, but takes off hard around 5 grand, and pulls that way all the way up Don't let the numbers fool you.....the charts may only show 8+ and 10+ hp gains for the cbr and busa, but its going to feel like alot more on the bike And Yosh has really got the smooth factor dialed in nicely...they took all the good parts of the busa's power delivery and just made them better For maps I have a Cobra fuel programmer on the busa, and am just running their recommended settings for a full system. I could play with it some and maybe get a little more power, I did that with my slips, but I also lost fuel mileage and had it slightly rich to get those gains. The recommended setting so far is giving great power, a clean sharp throttle and great mileage, so for now I might leave it as-is
And ROCKIN' 10 Reeves I'm just a little "green" with envy..........when will I get over my 10 obsession lol.

Rook,

Is this guy trying to sell me a used bike?

Doesn't Kawa in Japan run the bikes on a dyno a bit before finalizing? I'd guess that may be where some of the rotor wear?

Good question.

Me likeee! Congratulations on your new pocket rocket in the convenient liter size container Reeves! With the 14, the 10 and the 636, you've got all the bases just about covered. Is that '04 or '05? If you don't already have one on there, invest in a good steering damper, those are wheelie monsters and they've been known to bite you if you're not paying attention. Have fun and ride safe!
