10R Fender Extender
09/29/12 6:53 PM

Since they don't make one, I had to make my own. Bought a trashed 10R fender off Fleabay and cut the back half off. Had to trim the sides a bit to match and then bolted it to mine using the stock holes. Now I have coverage all the way to the bottom of the radiator. Belt and suspenders with the Cox Racing guard.

I used the same paint I got for the strakes-not an exact match, but you can't even see the extender unless you stick your head up there.

Do they have a U.S. distributor? $30.46 + shipping ain't real cheap.

They even have a proprietary ZX-10R fender extender (thread subject), but shipping from the UK is the question.

Nope, extending a 10R fender on a 14.

10R fender is a common cosmetic mod on ZX-14s that was done to my bike by the previous owner. Some say it lets more air to the radiator than the stock item, but I wouldn't know. I couldn't find an extender, so I made one. Even though I now know (thanks to you) that one is made for the 10R, I'll stick to my homebrew deal. I asked about postage costs and a US outlet for Pyramid out of curiosity. I have about $20 and some time in mine, but there aren't a lot of trashed 10R fenders f/s out there, so it may be cheaper for someone else to go with the Pyramid example.

There is a US fender extender maker, let me go post on COG and see if the C14 version will work.

I think Twisted Throttle or PCA-ONE has them too.

I checked, and the guy makes one for the ZX14. Will post a picture of one installed as soon as he sends me one.

Here is a picture of a ZX14 with Larry's fender extender on. You can hardly notice it. Pretty much the same as on my C14. They go on with ABS cement, same as plumbers use on ABS plastic water pipe. You need at least 2 spring clamps with rubber or other kind of padded jaws, to clamp it while it drys. Drys in about 4 hours max.

I love mine, it keeps 90% of the road crap (even in the rain) out of the front of the radiator and bottom of the headers. All I ever have to do is hose it off in there.

I would be happy to give Larry your email address if you want one, just PM me, and I'll PM Larry on the other forum and he will contact you. The rear extension is $60 delivered, I can't remember what the front cost me, but it was less.
