yes it will louis . the shock will hit right in front of the fuel mounting flange ..i didn't want to knock a hole in my fuel tank .. being 1st time to do this .. so i removed 1 of the 5 bolts to the fuel pump and grinded the edge if flange a bit also .. next time i remove the tank i'll doctor it up a little better and get you some pics of the work...
also some friends of mine have cut the reservoir off and tapped the holes and added a hose from the shock to the reservoir.. and then had the shock recharged .. but i wanted to try the whole shock untouched

I will have to look under the 14 and see what you are looking at. Glad I did not sell the 08 Busa shock and spring.

I'm glad the fairings come with the bike
YOU DO AS MUCH WORK on the bike like i do you get tired of fairing removial to read plugs or to add gizmo's .. plus 50lbs gone..
and the bikes name is MISS FUGLY . Getting custom decals made now .. BUT SHE SURE CAN LAY AN AZZ WHOOPING TO MOST ZX14'S

My 14 is still set up for Sport Touring, going back to Ozark mountains in a few weeks and don't want to mess with yet.
I do like watching Wheelie on Youtube showin a over 50 rider can run Fast. Wee is 6'4" @210, not just a little man.
Texas motor Plex is just outside DFW area. But NHRA track....picky about street bikes.
I rode a 2000 Busa with small turbo and it was TOO fast for my wallet. Pro built engine, but have seen so many have major problems when ridden hard in top gears. Top ends tend to go away faster than my income will allow. Like you posted you are always tinkering with it. I would hurt myself if I owned your 14. Let another bike pull beside me on open hiway, can not help myself.

I like the naked look, I don't think the Bking is as hidious as some think. The only complaints I have is the coolant over flow bottle ruins the look and the headlights don't seem to fit. The headlights seem a little small for such a beast. I think a set up like one the speed triple or a larger single like on the Z1000.

[quote][how much of an improvement is the busa shock? I'm at about 300lbs geared up, bike is stock./quote]
huge ..day and night differance .. i'm 275lbs geared up and i can't bottom it out by jumping on the bike seat .. in fact it only travels 2 inches jumping on the seat .. i would bottom out the zx14 shock doing that over 4 inches of travel set at hardest setting .. my busa shock isn't even set half way on the spring tension .. road riding is a little stiff but this bike is being made for the track and better launches

I can certainly appreciate keeping the fairings off if you work on her as often as it sounds.
As for the lights - I think they look awesome and, as long as they do their job, I'm good.
Anyone seen "How to Train your Dragon"? The Night Fury's head looks like they took inspiration from the front of the ZX-14. Now I'm actually thinking about painting her to match that head. I think it would look stinkin' awesome.
