The long pointy cone shaped pins on the Heindl are universal but IF you do not get the two halves of the stand together tightly when you attach it to the bike, they will fit loose. No biggy, the cones are long enough that they aren't going to slip out. If I was hasty attaching the stand and the pins don't fit snug, I just set the bike back down and repositioned the stand. The screw-in pin of the ABBA ensures that the pins will be inserted tightly. I really like that. Heindl could have done that with their stand but I guess it isn't really necessary with the long cones.

I didn't mean to offend you

Sorry if it was taken that way

I was just wanting the best bang for the buck

And it does seem to Abba would serve both purposes; front and rear, but-it's quite a bit more money

Thanks for yhe help

I was looking into ordering an Abba stand and you get a set of pins with it for your specific bike

so ordering another set from my other bike is not that big of a deal as I think it is Only another $18

but after buying the stand, then paying another $120 to raise the front, ouch!!!

The cones needn't be changed with the Heindl. That's a plus.Course,if ya have one bike only...that doesn't matter.Just seems easier to me to 'jack' under the oil pan or header there...no big deal to me anyway.Guess that front raise bar on the abba's is okay as well.Maybe get in the way of an oil change though? But ya wouldn't need to raise the front for that.Either stand I think is fine...

I see the crnter stand on eBay, either alone for 250 shipped,

Or with the front arm for $300 shipped These auctions come with fittings for my BMW

Where can you find the fittings for sale for the 14r in the USA?

I talked to the guy at redline on the phone and he said the Abba company pretty much "don't want your business" lol

Apparently other resellers can't hardly get them in the US

but at least eBay has auctions for the stands

I am about ready to pull the trigger on this sucker! I like it!

But also need 14r pins hopefully available without international shipping. It'd be nice to find it all from one supplier in one package deal; center stand (provided pins for my BMW), front lift arm, and with extra pins for the 14r

Zman - I apologize to you for being crude.

If you're interested in an ABBA stand, be sure to price it out through BlueStreakRacing.com directly. AFAIK they are the ones sealing through Ebay, they are the only supplier in NA.

I priced it through Ebay and direct from their website - it was actually cheaper to buy through the Website. BUT that could've changed.

Here's how it should work. The Super Bike stand includes the pin kit for the bike you order it for. So it should be $250. The Front Lift Arm kit is $50 on top of that (more separate). When I ordered, I think it was either free or $10 for shipping. If you need another pin kit, I think they're about $40. However, be sure to make sure the ones you order with the base stand don't work with your other bikes too. It's entirely possible the same pins will work for a lot of bikes. You might consider the Bobbin Kit too for $10, but it's not necessary (if you have spools from wheel stands I think those would probably work for the same purpose, but not sure).

One word of caution - do not use the stand until you have everything, especially the pins. A couple people have ordered them (Rkt here) and both had some weird things with the pins. But so far everyone seems to like them! I really like mine, I think my bikes been on it 3 weeks now for storage/working on it and not one complaint out of the stand!

BTW - just for clarification I'm not in any way in business or representing ABBA or any suppliers, etc. I like things that are engineered, and for basically a few chunks of metal the ABBA is a solid product and reasonably priced. Again, it's not perfect but compared to Pitbulls which cost about the same for a set the ABBA is just such better value, and safer, etc.

(edited: corrected Front Lift Arm kit price...I forgot the correct price).

BooM! Done! Got it ordered. This thing should be exactly what I have been needing so long.......

I just called Blue Streak and ordered over the phone. Guy said it should ship on Monday.

$340 total ($10 less than I thought) for the stand package deal (with front end attachments) with BMW fittings, and with an extra set of fittings and swingarm bobbin for the 14R.

Thanks for all the info and suggestions, Vic.

I think I may use it to store one of the bikes over the winter; as it hangs.............suspended between heaven and hell...........waiting.....a demon seed sleeps...............as it hibernates in its hellish cocoon......

(Hear that Wolfman? I feel a bit poetic in my excitement!).

Cool let us know what you think of it! Keep in mind it can be confusing first use. I watched a few vids (abba and youtubers) and it still was a little weird. In a couple times, you'll literally have both wheels up in <2 minutes if you want to.

Make a vid, take some pics! Down with Pit Bulls!!!

(j/k about the Pit Bulls thing..but kind of)

There's still a couple things like suspension tuning and running the motor in gear where a spool stand is the right choice. Don't toss out the Pit Bulls yet. ..although there are cheaper stand that look like they'd be quit adequate.

I'll be slow and easy with it, for sure. Thanks.

My current stands were I think $100 for a set of two. Habor Freight maybe. LOL

Always nervous when I have the back end on it, and when I have both ends up, I'm ready for a nerve pill. But you get what you pay for.

But this thing is gonna be great.

Really helpful and friendly guy at Blue Streak I ordered it from.

"where a spool stand is the right choice"...yup...for sure...like chain maintenance and rear wheel removal....if that's all you're doing at that time.Having to assemble the pivot stand(and securing it to the bike) does(imo)take some of the simplicity out of 'just getting it done'...but,they're most excellent stands for doing the front AND back needs at the same time...when you have time to not be in a hurry.

I have the ABBA stand and the front lift bar accessory for it, but I don't use it for the ZX-14R.

I have used ABBA stands on all of my bikes just getting new adapters when needed. I found with the ZX-14R if I want to get the front wheel and back wheel up I can use this stand (looks similar except for the wheels). I used this when I tracked my S1000RR along with an Oxford rear stand. I didn't use the ABBA at the track as it slower and tedious to get the front wheel up with the extension arm. Stand that is similar to what I use when raising the front wheel of my ZX-14R with the ABBA stand

If I tried the same method on my S1000RR with the ABBA stand the rear wheel would touch the ground.

After you use your Abba twice you'll be lifting the rear in < 60 seconds if you want. All this idea about "assembling" and "securing" is just someone that doesn't have a clue (no offense...this is just hte case). It's basically a 3 step processing, insert the left side, setup the right side, lift bike.

It's that simple. For track purposes, someone could pretty easily use an abba if they used a front wheel chock. But if someone's at the track with no help someone would probably have an easier time using a rear wheel stand.

Received the stand today. Only three days from Canada

Impressive piece of engineering, as Vic said.

First time putting a bike this big on it, alone, you can't help but be somewhat cautious, but it's soon evident that the bike is "one" with the stand ( if tightened down correctly) and you are not gonna have any problems if you are careful

Just hold the bars straight and pull it up. With a 550 plus lb bike it takes a good heave to get it up, but I think just about anyone with average strength could do it

Getting my BMW on it should be a breeze

Stand is impressive, heavy duty and well made; Highly recommended. it's safe and is a """""very""""" handy item to have.

Cool;)...I've only lifted my bike a couple of times with my stand..but it really IS a great idea.Very nice to be able to get to the frontend...and able to turn the bars and such without a hassle.I won't need to remove my front fender anymore everytime I go the remove that wheel....so much better.

Nice pics zman, looks good on that stand. I assume you're using cardboard to get the bike up a little bit more int he air? I'd be careful. I'd only recommend using a sheet of ply wood to protect your floor, also the legs should rest on it as well, as it's sitting it's putting more pressure on the front legs. Either that or install the front lift arm as an additional bracing.

Nice though, you're gonna love this thing.

Thanks

And good point about the angle putting more pressure on the front legs

I put on the cardboard that it was packed with under it to protect my vinyl floor, but I guess I need to put the same thickness cardboard under on the front legs too to give it less of a forward lean

Yes, I already love it, great product!

I do think the left side fitting should fit more snug, though

Still works fine and that's s small gripe, but that's something I thought was odd given that the fittings are supposed to be made to fit the exact bike.

Both sides fit tight for the BMW fittings and the right side 14R fits tight bit the left has some slop in it. I noticed Vic's does as well from his video

But that's kinda trivial and is specific to the fitting fitment only

I love the stand.

You may have them backwards, I think it's doable. Or you got the wrong pin kit, should've been #48 for 14s.

The one with steps should be on the right side. I don't know, mine fits snug as a rug.

I have kit 48 yes

But the left is only snug when it's pressed in due to the cone shape

Its not snug with just the very end segment in the axle, no

The others are snug even with only the tip in

(That's what she said ...lol)

Vic, Just after the 3:10 or so Mark of your video, it looks to like your left side has the same slop that mine has.

Works fine once its tightened into the axle , but as I said, I would have expected them to all fit tight given that they are specific to each bike.
