None the less, guys, carrying a weapon on a motorcycle or in a car is strictly regulated in almost all states, and just because you get away with it a few times doesn't mean you won't get arrested sometime due to a routine traffic stop resulting in a for-cause search.

And then you will find yourself in state prison.

Danno; Unfortunately, the idiots will have access to firearms no matter what you do. Background checks and registration will never prevent it. If someone is cracking up, a loner, has never seen a psychiatrist, has never committed a crime, but wants to buy a gun, what will stop him/her? If they can't buy a gun, what will stop them from driving through a group of kids, or tossing a molotov cocktail. or poisoning some food? Gacey or Dammer never used a gun, and thousands of innocents have been murdered and worse without guns. I agree it would be nice to stop the senseless killing, but it will never happen. It will only get worse because of the media coverage, and the desire of these nutjobs to be in the limelight. The government wants to write more and more laws, making more and more things illegal, but they pull more and more funds from the prisons, and never want to convict anyone for fear of violating their rights, or overcrowding the prisons. What sense does that make?

privateer; To have the permit, and carry legally, even on a motorcycle, that's the dream.

Love the holster seat, can I order one too.

Here in Canada, you can only buy firearms if you have a license. I just so happen to hold a restricted (auto, semi auto pistol aquisition and posession) and unrestricted (long gun, aquisition and possession). I keep my guns in a safe and have to notify the RCMP when I want to move them or carry them. Here in Canada, pistols must be carried with two locks, a trigger lock and inside a case lock. It must also be transported in the trunk of your car. I simply cannot strap one on to a shoulder holster, nor can I ever ride with it. I got to tell you guys, when I see pics of motorcyclists strapped and riding I feel like I have fallen into the movie matrix and swallowed the blue pill.

I wish, we could do that. If it was legal, I might shoulder strap a 380 apc, small semi auto. But realistically, by the time you pull one out, and someone goes to knock you off your bike with a bat, it is technically too late. However if I had a saddle holster, well that's just a game changer.

Wish I lived where you guys are, it is crazy restricted over here, in Ontario.

Just to clear things up, I have never thought that I could draw and fire a firearm while operating any vehicle. I have carried a firearm for most of my adult life and have never had to draw it as a civilian. I have been in a few situations where I thought that I might have to, but solved it in other ways. I did several years in the Marine Corp and have had a little training with a few firearms, hell I slept many a night in the field with the sling of my rifle wrapped around my leg. I like, understand and respect weapons of all types. I conceal carry while riding in case I need it when I stop and am off the bike. This bike draws attention and I have believe that you always have to be on your toes. I never want to be in a conflict of any sort but I do believe in being well prepared, Oh and heavily armed!!! While it is legal to conceal with a license here in Texas, it is very interesting to hear about how different it is everywhere else.

Dericrey,
Dude, I totally get what you mean when you say, I carry, "in case!" I respect firearms too. I apologize if I made light of it, here in Canada, there are so many restrictions, to protect yourself, one really should leap over the border and smuggle one back. Not suggesting one should, nor would I, but to carry here in Canada for self protection, forget it, the laws just don't make that possible. That's what I like about my neighbours south of the border. In some states you can actually carry your firearm with you for protection, that is the blue pill I joked about.

So dude, your points are respected and I would do the same if I lived over yander. Here in Igloo nation, things are crazy!!!

@ wolfman, no worries. I make light of everything. The laws are very different from state to state here in the USA, not to mention country to country. I find it a fun "off-topic posting".

March 2013 poll of 400,000 police officers.

— 71% of respondents said an “assault weapons” ban would have zero impact on violent crime.
— 95.7% said a “high capacity” magazine ban would not have an impact on violent crime.
— 79.7% said universal background checks would not have an impact on violent crime.
— 90% of these law enforcement professionals said “mandatory sentences with no plea bargains” for those who use a gun in perpetrating a crime would reduce violent crime.
— 91.3% of respondents supported concealed carry laws for citizens without a felony in their past, “without question and without further restrictions.”
— 80% of surveyed law enforcement professionals also agreed that casualties at Sandy Hook Elementary would “have likely been reduced” if “legally-armed citizens” had been in the school.
“This survey captures the perspective of an audience that has an intimate professional connection to gun policies in our country, yet is rarely heard from as a group in discussions on the issue,” said Alex Ford, CEO of the Praetorian Group, PoliceOne’s parent company. “Our standing as the leading online community in the law enforcement market enabled us to gather what we feel is the most meaningful sampling of police attitudes about gun control ever compiled. There is clearly a wide range of opinions regarding this issue nationwide and we believe it’s important for our audience’s voice to be heard.”
Totaling just shy of 30 questions, the survey allowed officers across the United States to share their perspectives on issues spanning from gun control and gun violence to gun rights.
Other findings:
— 92 percent feel that banning semi-automatic firearms, or “assault weapons,” would have no effect or a negative effect on reducing violent crime.
— 91 percent said the use of a firearm while perpetrating a crime should lead to a stiff, mandatory sentence with no plea bargains.
— Respondents were more split on background checks, with 31 percent agreeing that mental health background checks in all gun sales would help reduce mass shootings, while 45 percent disagreed.
— 71 percent support law-enforcement leaders who have publicly refused to enforce more restrictive gun laws within their jurisdictions.
— 82 percent believe gun buyback or turn-in programs are ineffective in reducing the level of gun violence.
The survey was promoted by PoliceOne exclusively to its 400,000 registered members, comprised of individually-verified law enforcement professionals. Only current, former or retired law enforcement personnel were eligible to participate in the survey.
Are you LE or know someone who is? Do the survey results square with what your contacts in the field say about current efforts to ban semi-auto rifles, magazines, and other shooting items? Let us hear your thoughts yea or nay in the comments field below.

Alag8ter,
Please share this information with the RCMP in Canada. I have a few "toys" permited, licensed and adhearing to all codes and laws. There are so many restrictions here, it almost makes it "not worth it" to be armed.
Mad love from your igloo neighbour in Canada.
