I wanted to start a new thread here in the performance section documenting the gradual growth of Melinda.
I bought my 2012 ZX14R in March 2013. I put on 5900 miles with the bike in stock form. Then I purchased my first mod. M4 megaphone slips. Let me just say, FUCKIN AWESOME! Love these damn pipes. Only rode for 92 miles with them, but so far, so awesome! I do recommend them to anyone! They look awesome too!
And for the second mod... Can you say CBLASTED? Yes, my Melinda has been CBlasted by the great Predator Racing Team! I've only just put the bike back together with the newly flashed ECU. Ran the bike at idle til the fan kicked on, then played with the throttle just a lil bit. 2 things I noticed immediately, the sound and the smell. WOW and WOW! Sounds and smells like a damn Muscle Car! I cannot wait to get her out on the road to give it a nice road test.

I did have to have some warranty work done. I noticed i had lost a bit of clutch fluid from the res. So i investigated a little bit and noticed that near the slave cylinder was wet, and the plastics had been damaged by the fluid leaking as well. I took the bike back to the dealership. They took care of me very well. The mechanic found a metal shaving about 1.5" long stuck between the cylinder wall and the piston. Everytime I used the clutch, it slowly chewed away at the seal, causing it to leak progressively. Kawasaki covered and replaced the slave cylinder and the plastics that were damaged. While it was in the shop I also had a new set of Pirelli Angel GT's mounted. On the rear tire I went to a 55 profile instead of the stock 50 profile. Will give feed back on this. Haven't ridden them yet.
