PCV Question
08/25/13 3:20 PM

I tried to search for the answer before asking but could not find what I was looking for. My 09 has the PCV and full brocks 4-2-1 and I asked the guy I got the bike from if it had the Brocks map on it and he said that it does. I just hooked up the laptop to see the map notes and it looks like he was telling me the truth but my question is... Is there also a timing map for the ignition? On my previous bike (07 FZ1) i had the PCIII and ignition module and I thought the PCV did the fuel and ignition? If so I did not see an ignition map on the PCV readout on my computer, any ideas? Does this bike not require any ignition changes for mapping?

Not sure if an ignition map is required or not, however I've got a PCV and I also have a separate ignition module as well. The PCV by itself doesn't change the timing on the bike. Check next to the PCV (should be under the left ram air cover) if you've got an ignition module it should be right next to it. I'd give Brock's a call to see what they recommend.

Yes it is mounted right where yours is and there is no ignition module. I could of sworn that I read somewhere that the PCV did the ignition tables with out the separate module. But I think I am going to call brocks and pay the $25 to get the used system over to my name and have their support on maps and what not.

Nightmare your right there is indeed a PCV Ignition module and I am pretty I would benefit more from a nice new helmet then the $350 for the ignition module. Did you notice a difference from just PCV to adding the ign module? On my FZ1 I put on the Ign module about 6 months after getting the PCIII installed and all i noticed was my bike ran cooler by about 10 degrees, and maybe smoother around the normal 4-5K vibration RPM range.

One thing I did notice on the notes that are associated with my map was that it said secondary flies removed and I was under the impression that removing the secondaries was not needed on the 09 models?
