Might ask Lemich to price match.
Got my new rear caliper and it sure looks nice. Little heavier with pads and fittings than I was hoping for.
444 grams with steel bolts/fittings and pads.

lol Neither Lemick nor SBU has answered my last email and I asked SBU how to order since there is no part# or bike specific fitment selections on their site. ...I mean this is $1600 I'm planning to drop. I want to know what I'm ordering! ..and also, I want to make sure i get that logo inverted for a lower mounted rear caliper. I guess I have to call.

444g is a good reduction, I'm sure. If your ZX-10 rear caliper is 930g, I'm sure the ZX-10 rear caliper is at least that much. DAMN!!! you saved over a lb on your rear brake caliper and probably another lb on the bracket! $200/lb is pretty normal for weight loss by aftermarket parts so you're in the ballpark.

The weights posted on the previous page for the front calipers are WITH pads. He did not say with ALL hardware so I expect another 200g on top of the caliper/pad weight......LOL which would put each front about .5 oz lighter than stock.

For front calipers, it's either used (I think you'll be waiting a long time) or order from Sweden. Hope they fit ok--I did see a post on a Ducati forum where some 4 pistons were bumping his CF bodywork (fender, maybe?).

I'm happy for you on your rear caliper weight loss but I'm a little dejected about the fronts. Stiil nice looking but sHeeZE! No weight loss?

I think the front calipers are pretty universal. I don't think there are any differences other than the bolt spacing. Don't think I could do the Beringer cost with no weight loss though, as the regular stock calipers are a really nice setup.
Still debating on what to modify on the rear caliper bracket as it definitely seems thicker in some areas than the stock cast bracket.
The new rear bracket is about twice the weight of the stock bracket.

I smell some Swiss CHESE!

Speaking of Swiss, I'm looking into a full setup with ISR. Not crazy about the fact i can't get them in gold but those brakes do look the coolest by far and they are lightest for front. I see that open piston design is how they are keeping the weight down. The stock ZX-10 brakes have that. The rear is going to be more than the Beringer but if it's close, I might take it just to have a matching set.

Thats awesome. I like how unusual the ISR calipers are. You could always get them anodized in the states.

WELL, let's just see if I can get them for a couple grand or less. The shipping is probably going to kill me if I can even get them to ship here from Sweden. I don't see any ISR radial mount front caliper suppliers in the US.

ISR calipers are anodized with a clear pigment. I couldn't see having a brand new finish redone since i believe that entails sanding away the first one. I'd probably just paint them and clear coat. VHT gold engine paint looks pretty good. Not as good as anodizing but at least it is a rich gold color. I'd do the exposed pistons in black.

They ask you to call, not email. I will have to Google "Hello" in Swedish and then face the awkwardness of asking then to speak to me in English.

From what i can tell, most Swedish people speak English very well. I think i now know everything i need to order these quick.

So far 550g difference between stock caliper/ mount with Ti caliper and mount bolts and the Beringer caliper and modified active mount. The difference would be a bit more to compare the stock rear with steel bolts to the aftermarket parts with all lightweight bolts.
The difference is more than 600 grams once the new bracket was finished and all the bolts on the caliper were converted to Ti.

That's a good weight loss. $200/lb is what to expect. Sometimes you get a greater reduction but not often. I'm still thinking about trying to track down those ISRs but I have to finish off my NOS mods first.

Glad I waited. Sounds like Berringer rear and the new fronts will be the way to go.

I've looked around for these before, couldn't find anything that I'd trust at 200mph. So I'm asking the only currently listed source (that I can find )for a zx14 version again..
Maybe if a few other people asked we'd actually have a source of cf rear rotors?

MMR Carbon Fiber rotor

Why no CF fronts?

The only mainstream cf front rotors used to be sicom. They don't make motorcycle rotors anymore, at least not that they will discuss with me. Used set of sicom rotors is still $2k. All MotoGP bikes run cf rotors, but they only work with heat, not really workable on the street that I've seen. They seem to be having some success running cf rotors in the rain recently, so their operating temp windows must be getting wider, has to be close to useable on the street. Probably just too expensive. I ordered a set of metal matrix rotors so they'll all match, they are the best bang for the buck that I've seen. $1500 for 320x5.5mm rotors, should save a couple hundred grams each, and increase surface area.

Ordered a set of Ti pistons with magnets for the rear caliper. Working on a titanium pad pin for the rear (last steel piece on the rear caliper), and custom titanium front pistons with magnets for my brembos..

Cool! The magnets retract the pistons from the rotor?

The magnets just keep the pads square and pulled against the pistons so that they don't drag on the rotor.

2 lbs, 2 oz. I can't remember the weight of the stockers. Not the prettiest rotors I've seen but if you're full on racing, pretty takes a back seat.
