So what is better. The reflash or PC. What are the differences. Ive had mine dyno tuned in Reno. I talked to the guy this morning and he dosent do the reflash and not sure what the gains are for doing it.

Depends on who does the re-flash.
I can only talk about Don Guhl because lots of my COG buddies have had him do it. It removes top speed limit value, bumps rpm limit a small amount, on C14s it lets Econo mode operate at a slightly higher speed. It also opens the secondary butterflies sooner and more.
When I take my Connie to Guhl, he'll put her on the dyno, do a few pulls, then use that to re-flash new A/F and Ignition table values. So she won't need a piggy.
If I later put a Muzzy dual exhaust on, I'd have to go back to Guhl and have it done again, or hang a PC5 with Autotune and do it that way.

It depends on what you’re looking for. I first had the PC5 with the Bonneville pro and the GI Pro ATRE to mask all the BS. But I later got the flash and took off the Bonnie, GI Pro and a muzzy timing advance I had. The flash did all that and now I fine tune with the PC5…..I bumped the RPM’s up to 11700 because I had some head & cam work and now she rips like no other! LOL

That sounds like were i want to take mine to. Gonna add a 8" swingarm and let her rip. I've never used her to the full potential yet. Just gonna have it dynoed till i can find somewere close to have it reflashed.

I used Dyno Tronics out of TX his name is Joe. Good guys and very happy with the flash. We ran it up to 200 mph on the Dyno to make sure the restrictor was lifted.

I have a stupid question....
Joe says the reflash is better if I get a custom tune. Would I have to RE-tune after the flash?

I did... Custom tune before and after flash... After flash the map was tweaked in the areas where the flys open sooner, where the ignition timing was changed, and where the revs were extended... Did not look like the ECUnleash flash had any fueling changes.

I'm not sure where I'm at anymore because I had the reflash done and my dyno guy said the RPM limit was only raised 100 RPM so I sent it back to Dynotronics to have it raised to 11700 and then we put it back on the dyno. This time we did the pulls and it said 11,000 rpms. My dyno guy says the dyno is correct and he is taking the signal off the ECU but Dynotronics says you can’t take the reading there and he is getting a false signal. WTF! So my engine guy says send it to Guhl....that's another 375.00 and then I'd only have to go back to the dyno again for more $$$ to see if it goes to the 11700! It went to the 11,700 on the gauge but they are saying the tac could be off....but being off 700 rpms??? I have no idea whch way to go. I have to stop spending money at some point but I need the extra rpms for the run......

You can't get at the gas cap to fill the tank. Same as saying, you can't take a tach reading at the tach's output wire, the rpm will be wrong. Gotta explain it better than that.
Look at your sig lines. Keep going. You're not even close to spending money on speed.
See you paying out again to make sure the guy set the limiter higher? He owes you a dyno session. You R&D what you farm out... Buy the time you dyno bike(s), might as well buy a dyno. I almost did...Long story.

That right there just turned me off. I can't spend that much $$$$ for a speed I'm going to reach once every year if that! Just the bike stock is too much for me, with my mods, it'll be years before I bring the matching skills! I didn't know the reflash was going to be so much work!

In the fastest Indian, the guy does the whole thing on a budget lol Great movie by the way but I digress.
whether it's from Guhl or Dynotron. there seems to be too many ifs with the reflash. I'm just going to have wait and see. I'm going to get the tune and make the bike lighter, that's it.... for now!!!!!

Drag I'm thinking ur right.... I'm done. I have to buy a set of rear sets I don't want just to make my HM quickshifter work but at that point I'm done.....tires, chains and beers! from now on!
