Well put on the PC3 vs PC5. Truely the bottom line, its just another tool. If you have a good map then what are you actually gaining? Nope, perfectly happy with my purchase (is it here yet?). Ok, so heres one for you. Bike does have an Ivans on it. I plan on yanking the butterflies when I do my install. Correct me if I'm wrong but if I remove the Ivans I'd lose the aggressive ign advance curve in the lower gears, no? I'm guessing it stays until I purchase the PC ignition add on. Thoughts? One more: Anyone yank their flys and regret it?

Are you talking about a TRE ? I think you are, if so you can leave it in. Try it with or with out. This is just mocking 6th gear.

If your bike is a 06-07 your launch will now require more wrist control. You will love it.

Slow, I would LOVE to lose 20lbs but I love seared animal flesh(MOO)a tad to much to make this a reality . Wash it down with a WEE Pint and I am a happy man . I like the MR9 thing with a Head gasket idea. That I can do. I want to be the clear winner. If I let this guy get off first I can run him down it just takes too long........Ahhh. Have you heard of what the gains might be with the thinner gasket ?

thin head gasket + adjustable cam gears (degreed professionally) can get you +5 or 6 hp. MR9 is probably good for 2 or 3.

my opinion (since you have to pull the motor to install these anyways), order a set of cams and heavy duty valve springs while you're at it. You'll be + 16-18 hp and CLEARLY a faster bike. I only wish i installed a set while i had mine out, but believe you me a set WILL be going in over the winter.

Hey guys- All the goodies showed up today, its going to be a great weekend for sure! Little bonus too, I thought the pipe was stainless with a Titanium can but no, the whole system is Titanium....Most excellent indeed. Weighs about nothing, incredible welds. Heading out to the shop, get the bike up on the lift, crack a cold one and get up to speed with the directions on this stuff. Hell of a deal from Orient express, Ti high mount pipe, PC3 and a K+N for thirteen bills shipped to my door. Yeah Bay-Bee!

Well what an excellent weekend it was. I have some photos to post soon. I see posting photos to the forum has its own "procedure" and I'll need to re-read that thread. I had originally taken photos as the job was in progress, but damn if they didnt come up missing when I downloaded them off the camera. I do have some pics after the fact, coming soon.....
Full Titanium pipe from Oreint express most impressive. The welds,Wow, and I dont care if they are robotic or not. Hell, George Jetson could have done them for all I care. I do a fair amount of TIG welding, and I probably spent 30 minutes and a beer just admiring them.
Started out Fri night, bike on the lift, check out instructions, eyeball the job. Started at 10 Sat, pipe on by noon, butterflies out about 1:30.
PC-3 install was pretty straight forward, an Orient Express map preloaded. The K+N install...was an air filter change. Dont forget the grease.
I capped off the clean air system at the valve cover, and made a really cool stainless plug on the lathe for the hole in the frame/airbox.
The bike worked pretty friendly. Once the bodywork is off there is lots of room to get around. The "push flush to engage, push in again to release" plastic rivets under the nose of the bike were pretty nifty.
Fired it up and it sounded great. With no laptop around, I eyeballed the double doors leading into the computer room. In no time flat, I had the bike running in the house and hooked up to HAL, my super-computer. "No dear, I dont think the house smells like exaust..." Ok, I had the doors open and the big fan running, but Pookie's nose was twitching when she got home from work.
First ride was about 3 in the afternoon. Bike runs very well, nice boost in power, quite rapid indeed. looks great.
I'm pleased. I think the map may be a touch rich down low, so I'll be playing with that soon.
Regards from Tucson!
