Maps
05/09/12 4:42 PM

I went out today to fill my bike with BP 89 in expectation of tomorrows dyno run.I put a different map in.I was running Brocks street map which seema a little lean on the low end.I put in a Tsukigi full system no flies map.Got the gas then on the back it had great response on the way back.Must of been that richness down low. Will be checking it on the way to the shop in the morning.

What Brock has been traditionally giving with piggy purchases is a track map made rich across the board.

If we were going for a land speed record that richness would come in handy. We aren't, most of us. Some might be.

I never dyno-ed Jeffo's map but I liked the way the bike ran better than with Brock's map. So I won't argue if Jeffo's map is good or not, because I don't have a dyno ticket proving either way. But the bike ran really good, and I ran that map on a lot of long trips, and even though it was made for my near-sea-level location, it performed great in the mountains of Vermont too.

And I can't speak to Brock's ZX14R (2012) map because I haven't run it, and don't own a ZX14R, and never will. Too late for this old cogger, I'm done with buying bikes based on how fast they are.

I don't think mine is anywhere near as rich now as it was with jeffo map my buddies all used to complain that the fumes coming from my bike were too strong now there is no smell of unburnt fuel.

not being a Dynojet who knows the difference.Mine pulled 175.Yours might pull 180 on the dyno I used.Remember it's just a number.Mine was just a little difference. But thats on paper. In the real world it runs just awesome. It pulled 150 MPH up a hill just rolling it in sixth.Throttle response at 4 grand is amazing with this tune.So take to a Dynojet tuner.I don't trust Brocks maps.

My Brocks map was complete crap. I was barley breaking 150whp, he uploaded a map from a different zx14 he tuned, and I was 168-169, then with custom mapping I hit 176. So the brocks was a solid 25whp off.

If writes to a map is some sort of property rights, this is where you have no policy, send them up on the net for free. I'd be embarrassed to have said map as some sort of loss of HP writes me a map don't share policy.

I thought he wanted the actual power commander MAP, not a picture of my dyno chart.

On nitrous, I did 228whp with 135wtq :) thats where the real fun is.

Brock's told me their street map I'm running is designed for 89 pump gas so I filled up with 89 yesterday and made it a bit more snappy and for whatever reason the idle increased a tad.

Kolk1 I wouldn't find your bike fun. I ride in the mountains, on the twisties, and long distance sport touring on multi-day trips. Nitrous wouldn't do me any good, it would be gone in 10 seconds.

When I'm back roading, or doing trips to push mt, Memphis, or the dragon, I don't have it with me either. Also for those I have the bike at stock height with the stock sprocket on as well. But for daily riding, I'm on the interstate 95% of the time, and the bike is lowered 1 inch with the -1 sprocket and nitrous.

I will add, for either occasion, I have the 1inch drop pegs, and the 1 inch bar risers on all the time. I love those no matter what. lol
