Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a new ZX owner after 2 CBR XX Blackbirds & 1 Busa. I'm in Roanoke,VA & always up for a weekend ride (usually 200+ miles) if your local. I ride with a few guys all on sport bikes from 600s to 1400s & above all we all ride within our limitations. 2 wheels 1 love, gotta love the twisty roads of the VA Mtns!!

Thanx, glad to be part of the club! As far as that new Honda, you're absolutely right. The Honda engineers really were thinking in the wrong direction. I kept hearing rumors & even read an article in one of the cycle mags with a concept drawing of a new Blackbird but it never came to fruition. Funny how Honda started the big bike craze when it dropped in '96 with the '97 (which is the first year model I had) & Kawasaki has had the final word.Suzuki claims they have an answer with their newest Busa?? They can keep it! Side by side the XX is not even close to the ZX & I had a few extras on my XX (pipes, power commander) & my ZX out performs it stock.I do miss the LBS (Linked Braking System) that I had on the XX. The rear brakes on my ZX are very touchy. I know they offer the ZX with ABS in some countries, I would consider trading mine in on one if it ever becomes available in the states. I ride with a group of guys that are riding 600s-900s in the VA twisty mountain roads drag'n knees & the XX did well except for the occasional bottom fairing plastic rub. I don't have that problem with my Ninja. Much more nimble & flickable in the curves than was my XX.It has a narrower belly & doesn't rub @ all. I was always worried that I would low side on my XX. Had the Busa in between '97 & my '01 XXs. Kept it all of about 10 months before I decided it just wasn't for me. Extremely uncomfortable. I will be replacing my seat with something a little more comfortable for those 200+ mile rides we do. Have you any suggestions there?

I by-passed Roanoke Sunday morning. Welcome to the forum, Sargents or Concours on a seat.

WELCOME. Do a search on "seats". There are allot of opinions here. I went with the Concours 14 seat. Love it for all day riding.
