Ok it took me a little while to track this guy down. I saw the video thru a random link (ala life sucking youtube blackhole)

He is in Brazil and he rides an older Z1000. May have to save up for one of these too ;)

In my book there's crazy and stupid. We all do stupid things like this, but most of us understand it's stupid at the time. That's what I call crazy.

Doing it and knowing it's stupid while you're doing it is one thing. doing something stupid and not knowing it's stupid is an entirely different situation. That's stupid. Especially if something happens (ticket, accident, etc.) and you later try to justify the situation by any other means than doing something stupid.

I'm sure he'll have a bad accident, but probably not get killed (not sure what his gear situation is). He's not quite stupid enough to do like 150-200 kph, in which I have seen vids of people doing like 100 mph splitting. Seems to keep it around 60 mph, which I'm sure will make for a bad day if he got caught out going that fast, but not quite a meeting with the grim reaper.

I wonder how this guy captures his voice and exhaust sound. I installed Ion Air on my helmet but the only thing it can capture (in terms of sound) is the wind noise. At 70mph, no exhaust sound. If I use a microphone inside my full face, I may be able to get my voice but exhaust sound?

I say he's nuts for sure. I'm all for taking risk when I ride, but I try to put the odds in my favor by picking my spots. Way to many variables in his way of riding, something will go wrong. Imagine riding on the back with that fucker? I'd jump off.

Just saw the Brazilian through traffic.
Tell you what I see.

I see nothing more than an attention seeking loser.

And who, by the way is very probably a temporary entity.
Problem is if he ends up taking himself out under the wheels of a car, bus or truck, the driver involved has to potentially witness his body parts sprayed all over the road!
We can go on and on about the short comings of cage drivers.
But when imbeciles like this get out and perform like that in the public eye, it does nothing but compromise all of our reputations as motorcycle riders.
I don't care how capable or skillfull the bloke is, there is absolutely no reason to be that irresponsible and wreckless.

Mad skills?
Complete dick more like...

Grn, that was without a doubt the BEST accident video I have ever seen. Lightening strikes jets and helicopters over the road, guys shooting, boats laying in the road, trees falling, electrical lines, mooses, horses,....i never thought I'd watch the whole 13 minutes. That Russia must be one crazy place.

About OP, notice the rider is selectively careful? He does head checks, uses his horn or blips his engine frequently, then just rolls the dice other times. Also notice that there are lots of other riders filtering aggressively. Filtering like that must be fairly normal around there, he was just a big outlier in terms of his speed. I don't recall ghost rider using his signals :)

Traffic there really sucks!

There are guys here who lane split when traffic is going 70 mph, not really a great idea methinks.

Tooncimator,
I dont normally challenge guys on this site but I detect you might just be defending this Brazilian fool?
If you are, by that rational, you'd have no issue with your sons/daughters/grandsons/granddaughters riding pillion with him while he does his thing?
Because let's face it, he's selectively careful, he performs his head checks and he beeps his horn and blips his throttle!
I mean with all that, what could possibly go wrong???

Looks like he's been doing his thing for a while. I wouldn't let anyone I had responsibilty for ride on his bike with him. Not like that. I wouldn't let anyone ride on the back of a stunt rider's bike either. it looks awfully risky but in Brazil, maybe this is acceptable. LOL the body shops must be awful busy there.

Yannih, I think Rook understood my gist. I would never ever ride like him. Too much speed differential, period. I was pointing out some details that suggest a context for his behavior, and that he is, despite our initial reactions, not trying to kill himself and has clearly been doing this for a while, and that he isn't as far outside the norm in Brazil as he would be somewhere else.

I wonder how often something like this happens.

LOL I know there are people out there who don't have a problem "accidentally" hitting my car while moving. I'm sure there are those who will try to have these little accidents. "Look at that law breaking motorist making the streets dangerous for me, I'll fix his ass!" People forget their are cameras everywhere. This nob got away but he deserves to convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. OK the kid on the bike gets reckless driving. Who cares if people want to risk their own neck. let him take his own chances with his own life.

Toonces,
I kind of see where you are coming from.

But this blokes antics are well beyond the other riders in the clip.
And no matter what the norm is in Brazil, the speeds he gets to between stationary or slow moving cars is tempting faith on a very high level. Imagine the result if one of his handlebars clips a car mirror?
Perhaps what we saw was just a one of for the camera.
For his sake I really hope so because if it wasnt, his time is very limited.
I would never ever wish bad on anyone but if thats his modus operandi, minor or major it will all catch up with him sooner or later.

A classic case of major small dick syndrome.

I simply have no time for that sort of stupidity or any comment that even remotely justifies such actions.
