Oberon is considered the Cadillac but if you are concerned about weight reduction (and mirror removal/ mirror cap / bar end mirror IS a good weigh loss mod) these are very heavy for how small they are. I hear exceptional quality though. They are very expensive.
CRG is a great mirror. Pretty expensive but not bad if you just go with one. about $80/piece. Have a set on my 14. The ram ball/hinge design is nice. Yes the hinge will fold back if you ride over 120 mph but I am sure there is something you could do about that if that is a speed you find yourself at often. The hinge is nice for storage or squeezing the bike through a tight spot. I reccomend the hinge joint along with a ram ball.
I have had two different Chinese cheapies on my busa. One was a copy of the CRG. $16-20/ mirror, both. Both were equipped with a ram ball or similar joint for fine tuning the angle. I think that is something to look for. Never tied one without a joint for fine adjustment but seems to be a good thing to have. Well anyway, the Chinese mirrors were so close in quality to the CRG that I would ONLY buy a cheap bar end mirror from here on in. The only thing better about the CRG was that the hinge was a bit stiffer. Both cheapies were as light or lighter than CRG. Both had nice glass just as good as CRG. The Cheapos are virtually as good and so cheap if you no like, you toss and get something else. SHop Ebay and you will find all kinds of these deals on cheap barend mirrors.

Depending on what grips you have on the bars, you may need to use the adapter bobbin to clamp the mirror on. Basically, the bobbin is just an extension that you screw into the end of the bar like a bar end weight. I got both of my bar end mirrors on without the bobbin but I have narrower grips on mine than the OEM grips. It should work with an OEM grip if you use the bobbin.
here is the busa with the bobbin installed.

Sure thing Corn.
BTW, if you buy the cheapies, you will usually get 2 mirrors and the bobbins to go with them. Really good deals to be had on Ebay IMHO.
If you want me to post pics of parts on scale, I can. Removing the OEM mirrors and replacing with two barend mirrors and two mirror caps is a net weight loss of over 1 lb. You can get by quite well with 1 bar end mirror if you are careful to look over your shoulder in traffic.
Also, removing the mirrors makes a noice change in appearance. I always thought the OEM mirrors were nice looking but the shape of the bike looks much sleeker without them.

True Rook...I have used the Ebay cheapies for years, Work well and have held up. Some of them come with a little screw that holds the mirrow in.I would suggest that you remove that screw and add a little lockite to it. It will loosen over time causing the mirror to move or fall out..
