Won't hold up... Your better off with ceramic coating when dealing with heat...
However if you had a full size muffler that can be done !
Shorties are too close to the heat source !

..thankx for the info...i like the sound of the pipe i have now, mainly bcuz it's different from what i normally hear from other zx14s...i'll see how much the ceramic coating costs compared to getting a new pipe.....

There are a couple performance finish experts that are recomended over and over. Here is one.

I am pretty sure Jethot was also highly recommended. You can take your parts off and ship them.

If you're on a budget, you could try the high temp engine paint by VHT or Duplicolor. It won't be as durable. I have used Duplicolor on brake rotors and it holds up perfectly well to that heat. The muffler is vulnerable to getting brushed against so you would probably need to touch it up occasionally but the nice thing is you could just spray the touchups with it on the bike.

Cumberland county .. And as Rook said those work but VHT still needs a heat cycle performed before it cures..
Ceramic will be cheaper than a new exhaust...

Ceramic coating is awesome. I can touch the muffler right after a ride. Dissipates heats real fast. I had my whole system ceramic coated.

Kool your not far from me!! I work in Millville and ride all over I hit the chickie and Peres bike nights down AC ! And hooters in DE..

There are small benefits from ceramic so you should do the entire exhaust it's well worth !! And it's still cheaper than a new system!

I have a few buddies that do it but you would have to send it out ... Let me know if you want more info ..?
I don't have the space to spray powder and liquid in and feel good about it... So I just stick with powder for know.. Even tho I have the gun and ceramic to do it I never opened the damn stuff :/

YES 06-07 definitely pull flies!!! DEFINITELY. They don't open up 'till 6k rpm on the 06-07.

Check with others, I i am quite sure it is reported that the first two years the 14 was produced they mapped it with a lean spot the low range. Never heard anyone burning an engine from pulling flies but you will have potentially 100% throttle way down low without the flies in. You should install a PC5 to have the extra fuel to optimize the performance and also to eliminate any possibility of engine damage. I really like Bazzaz Fuel management too. The PC is great for the Kawsaki. Bazzaz has a kickass quickshifter + traction control if you really want to spend mucho deniro.

I have the 08 and on that, there is not as much to be gained by pulling flies IMHO.

They didn't stay this color long...

@zxrider345 AND @fatsix..nice!...makes the whole bike take on a meaner look...i see most people dig the brocks on the 14's...any real reason why?...only asking because i bought my bike with the roaring toys already on it, and it sounds good....no PC tho...do you recommend it?...only other pipes i looked into were the voodoos...any info?

@rook...thanks as always man!...i read that the 06/07 were different than newer years regarding the flies...i gotta look into it...i'll try to find someone who really knows all about the bike in my area before i mess with anything like that...

@06blackpearl...no doubt!..i'm 5 mins from the chickies n petes on the black horse pike by the shopping center in eht...i haven't hit it up for bike night tho, but i will this season...definitely let me know about your buddies who could do the ceramic coating...if they're close to you, i can just deliver instead of shipping...either way, i'm interested in getting it done, probably within the next month or so to be ready for when the weather breaks...

I can personally endorse Classic Coatings. They did the outside of my CT-Duals (titanium) in black, and the inside in race coat, and it certainly decreased felt heat on the rider's feet and legs, and probably improved performance.

Sharp, If your using the stock header and slip ons IMO you don't need a PC. Once you add a full exhaust with header, remove your flies and such you should get a map for the exhaust you choose so your bike does not run to lean. I bought and went with the Brock's system because I picked it up used and got a good deal. I had a full Yoshimura on my 07 bike which was also a great system. All big name Exhaust systems are nice so its personal preference on which system you choose, they all make good HP. Those roaring toys slip ons must be real loud!
