Your Thoughts Cometic Head Gaskets

I won't use a Cometic gasket if they paid me to use it on anything. had same issue fresh head and cylinder decking and new cometic gasket 1st ride out gasket failed and let compression into water jacket displacing coolant . nothing but OEM since


my bike has a .020 head deck and around 13 to 1 compression on E85 on 10lbs boost but my bike is mapped for pump gas or race gas too. has a 2 map switch.

I'm a believer in high compression low boost . I tried the low compression high boost and I didn't like how hard the bike had to work off boost real pigs off boost. ps got my 06 ecu and put it in with my 06 injectors drop my old 06zx14 turbo map in and purrrrrrrrrs like a kitten .

13 To 1,,,, OMG Studs ? Are you over torquing head or spec.

Bad honestly what do you think the new 14R will take for boost on ethanol free 94. Compression has been bumped from 12 To 1 on the Gen1 up to 12.3 to 1 on the 14R. Not much be still different.

I didn't listen to rumors about the head gasket and it cost a motor in friends bike. The big brain people telling me to stick to 4lbs boost to be safe. So I ran 6lbs for the first year. Will 8lbs be my end ? Spring is going in.

My IHI Ran 10lbs from 8500 RPM to 10800 and Never did blow. What have you heard guys running in 14R ? Thoughts please.
