I was searching the Internet with advice and answers, my 2006 has Yoshimura's on and the sound is awesome.... Moto GP style, my 2012 came with those stupid Torpedo tubes, but what do I change them for? I know what yoshi's sound like but what about Akrapovic? As I already had yoshi's I thought lets go for the Kawasaki approved Akrapovic's these come with a removable CAT and removable baffles, you don't need to get your bike re mapped either, the sound is so much better than the standard cans, no where as loud as the Yoshimura's but still loud enough to be heard, the sound is more raspier.
Stock pipe is 91db
Yoshimura is 99.8db
Akrapovic is 91db with CAT & Baffles
93db without CAT & with Baffles
96db without CAT & Baffles
The advantage with Akrapovic is they are E marked for those of you who are hounded by your local police
Even if you leave the baffles in but leave the CAT off, firstly the police would not be able to tell that the CAT's not fitted and secondly the sound is still great.
