Guys I have a 2009 ZX14 and I’m looking to add a slipper clutch. Does anyone know if the new ZX14 slipper clutches will work on the 2009? Don’t want to buy a custom unit. I’m sure I can find some on eBay.

Ain't gonna happen. Main shaft has two different part numbers. So you need more shaft for the mechanism to work. If you are that hard on the rear brake for it to chatter, bark down on the front brake more. Sell the bike and upgrade to a slipper. For me it's not a make/break deal on a slipper.

I plan to disable the slipper on my busa. Not that I normally ever feel it come on. You have to be rolling off at some big rpm before it ever does anything. Busa owners weld them for drag racing if that has any influence on your decision. It effects your launch. Why do you need to downshift that hard on a ZX-14? Try lowering your tire pressure if you are getting some tail swing when you downshift. I only got that on the track and lower tire pressure took care of it.

Not sure if my slipper has ever engaged on my downshifts (2016). I sure do miss the odd time my ZX12R would let me know it was not happy while downshifting.
I never noticed the rear end complain on my 2008 ZX14. I guess I just ride like the senior citizen that I am...

I was hopi g it wouldn’t be that difficult but guess it is. I like the slipper clutch in my ZX10 and some of my other bikes. They definitely down shift better when not using the clutch. It’s not an issue but I like modding my bikes when it’s cold out and can’t ride. Adding front and rear Ohlins this winter so I guess that will be the top mods and adding some Brembo gp4 calipers.
