Just wondering if anybody is using the MRA X-creen?
If so, how's it working for you?
I get a lot of wind and buffeting at highway speeds and would love to reduce it.
(I searched and found a few posts on the MRA, but nothing definitive)

I think I'm trying to solve the same problem: Too much noise.
I've switched from the OEM standard screen to the Zero Gravity Sport Touring windscreen when I bought a new helmet.
The helmet is one of the few that fits my long oval shaped head, an Arai Signet-Q. But, this thing is *way* noisier than my old lid. So, let's try a new screen...
The OEM screen put the wind blast center-chest (I'm 6'1, and I have basically the stock seating / pegs / bars etc.), and caused the wind to pressurize the lower neck / lower helmet area, forcing air underneath up into the helmet and causing severe ear discomfort for me.
This new ZGST screen puts the wind blast at mid-face, and now at least do not pressurize my ears (man, was that driving me nuts!).
But, it's still very noisy for me behind this new screen. I'm trying earplugs, I dont normally wear them on my 35 min commute. It's better, tolerable.
I try the same lid while riding on my touring cycle, and it's fine behind that tall windscreen.
So, I'm in the same boat now. I'm $500+ into a new lid, and trying to make it work, since it's one of very few still made that fits good.
Anyone using this screen extension? Opinions, please?

I'm 6'2 and tried the ZGST screen but it made my helmet dance like crazy, have an Arai Signet-Q also which I love.
Switched to the ZG Corsa screen and problems solved. Air hits right at neck level where I like it but doesn't seem to get under my helmet, keeps my helmet in clean air, no more bobble head! Noise level is OK. Looked at the MRA but sorry, saw a picture of one on a bike and it's FUGLY!!!

Yup, I get it.
This solution works for you at low to moderate speeds, where you likely spend most of your riding time (me, too).
What you traded off was "bobble head" stability at high speed. You'll tuck in behind the Corsa screen at high speed, and have a wind torrent at eye level.
The MRA might be Fugly, but it does not suffer from that particular trade off. There *are* other trades...
I am still looking for opinions on the X-Screen extension. Anyone?

I actually spend a lot of my time on the highway running triple digits, (when nobody is watching) for me the Corsa is smooth. Is the Corsa perfect, no, but have never has a screen that was.

I have an X-creen attached to a ZGST and have rode it for thousands of miles. You can bock the most wind with the screen vertical in the highest position, but the quietest is to run it up high and nearly horizontal.

The findings of Yannih. Click it with all your might.
This is my next move. I'm using a Zero Gravity ST and I'mnot happy with it on the highway.

I checked in to the vented screen the Yannih had, was only available for Gen1 according to Vista Kaw. When I called Vista I was told the screen is no longer available, oh well!

Danno: Where does the turbulence "land" (ie: how high is it?), in these two positions? (1) X-creen vertical, highest position, (2) X-creen nearly horizontal, up-high.
Please also include your height, and a few words about your basic riding position when you're describing the results.
Thanks!

Hagrid: Why are you not happy with it?
So, I've got a few hundred miles with the new (to me) ZGST screen.
For me, it's not bad, but it's not what I want. Because of my new lid (Arai Signet-Q), I'm still very noisy inside it.
I thought (was hoping) the ZGST would "push" the turbulence up to the top of the helmet, and instead, it's at eye level. It solved the "push" of turbulence up underneath (into) the helmet bottom, and got rid of pressurizing my ears, but it's still relatively noisy because the turb is still at eye level (not over the helmet top).
There is also a side effect of the screen: There is a "secondary" wave of turb at neck level. Starting at the screen top edge, as I move my hand in a straight line, straight back to my neck, there is smooth then "dirty" air. This air comes off the screen lip, and breaks up like an ocean wave, right in front of my neck. It adds to the overall noise, and really did not solve this part of the (my) complaint.
I'm really looking hard for a screen that will push the turb up over my helmet under my "normal" (basic) riding position. The un-aided ZGST is not it. (An X-creen aided one may be, depending on what Danno says).

Rode mine yesterday with the new MRA screen and I liked it.
Where does the main turbulence from the MRA screen hit your helmet? Can you feel any secondary turbulence hitting your chest or neck?

I'm 6' 3" and also have a tube bar kit, so I'm up in the wind blast for the most part. With the X-creen all the way up and vertical, I can hear buffeting noise but with the screen up and horizontal, the windblast is lower but smoother and quieter. I probably need to do some experimenting sans a helmet to see where the different positions put the flow.

Wrong goddamned color.
Ok... I'm messing. For reference, I'm 6'4" and my common Ninjee riding posture is "heads up".
I put 10K miles on the stock screen: the wind blast was right on my chest and I didn't notice much haymet buffeting. Once I installed the ZG the blast moved to my chin bar and at speeds above 60mph my haymet gets hit side to side like crazy.
I'm interested in the MRA Yannih has... if I can find one.
Might have to head to Oz with a 4mm hex wrench.

Well, the ZGST is not cutting it, for me. It got me part the way there (reduced the buffet, and ear pressure), but not all the way. (My config. is still too noisy, for me. A Corsa wont fix this, either.)
So, I bought an MRA "T" screen last nite, off eBay. Coming from a vendor in Germany. I looked at the X-creen, and if I need more, I'll add that later (but, not to the ZGST).
I got the MRA-direct model, not the Kaw re-branded one (from Vista, un-obtanium in "clear"). It also has the lower thru holes.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, truely. "Functional" works for me, most the time. I know some guys think this thing is Fugly, that's OK. I *really really* like this cycle, and so I'm willing to try stuff to make it work, long term. You know, like that girl in high school...

x2 ... you may have seen my post "Thinking about a Concours". I can't decide whether to modify the big ZX for more comfort ... I see risers are under $100 on eBay ... or swap it out for a C14 that's already comfortable, and with storage and shaft drive

Guys, a couple of facts.
The MRA / Kawasaki spoiler screen fits Gen1 and Gen2 ZX-14's.
I know. I just changed one from my 2007 to the 2012 I just bought.
Unfortunately I have heard poor reports on Vista Kawasaki and I can confirm from experience that they were not much help and pretty unknoledgable on these screens.
I am 6'3" and ride with a Shoei X-12 helmet and the results are great. Never had a screen so quiet and stable on the head at speed. I am talking tucked in at speeds up to 300km/h. Past that I can't say.
If you get one of these make sure it has the screen holes in it. That is the main secret as far as I understand (these are also available from MRA with no holes).
The other key thing to me was looks. I dislike the high, double bubble shape and any screen that sits high and takes away from the lines of the bike.
So this was a really great find for me.
Lastly, here's where I got mine from. It came from Germany and took a little extra time to arrive but was well worth it IMO.
eBay MRA/Kawasaki Spoiler Screen
Good luck guys.
P.S.
If you come down here with your wrench Hagrid, make sure youre careful to not let my missus catch you cause it could get ugly if she does...

So, I bought an MRA "T" screen last nite, off eBay.
Jumped in along side you, Meb.
I visited MRA's site: I found out through their "distributor" link that Twisted Throttle is their USA distributor. Went to TT and they had one MRA-T on the shelf: a blue one.
Snatched it up.
Yannih: I probably will still come to Oz. I'll leave my 4mm hex in the tool box but I'm bringing my Ninjee and my drinking liver. Alert Bean and the surrounding taverns.

Not sure which thread it was in, but I had inquired about the MRA screen, always willing to try something new.
I live in NE Indiana and not to far from Vista Kaw. When I called Vista I might as well have been speaking chinese, they didn't have a CLUE what I was talking about, what an MRA screen was, or where to get one!
I would still like to try one, yannih it's nice to know the screen will fit Gen1 and 2, will try to locate one now to try. If anyone has a link to someone who might have an MRA I would sincerely appreciate it!

Oh, and I currently have 2 ZX-14's with a crap load of extra riding gear so you are welcome to leave your Ninjee safe and warm at home and join us for a ride using mine. Not sure if we can keep up with Bean though.
But if you take advantage of this offer the beers are on you buddy!!!
