I guess you guys figured it out, today i bought a 08 silver zx14 with 5800 miles (bone stock) on the clock. My prior bike, and I loved it very much was a 00 turbo busa that ran (yes you guessed it) 9secondsflat at 167 with a baby hahn kit. The primary reason for buying the bike was price, yes I looked and very hard I might add, all accross the country to find an 08 busa black/grey but everyone wanted 8500 and up. The ZX14, I purchased was for 6k, yes it needs a new rear tire in the next few hundred miles but so what. The bike has a far less agressive riding position then my 00 busa and this works for my 42 year old bones.
The initial thoughts are wholy fuk, those front brakes are insane! one finger pressure is all that is needed to bring the bike down from 50, compare this with my busa and you needed to give a three finger snug grab to bring it down.
I know the former owner had a pipe as one of the lower pipe bolts is missing (anyone have one they would like to donate to an unemployed guy?) My other thought is it is very torquey in first gear and I would like to know is there any way to know if the flys were removed short of pulling the tank?
gotta go change the oil, just to make certain it is done and do a once over the bike...
What am I going to do with my Vanson Busa leathers????
