Slip-on V. Full
11/27/12 6:14 PM

Hi all,

New here.

Looking to strictly upgrade the sound of my completely stock 2008. My focus isn't upgrading the performance aspects of this machine (ECU remap, intake, ignition, etc...). It's all about the sound for me. I crave that race bike sound and want to know the best long-term course of action; slip-on or full system.

Any constructive thoughts or experienced based input is greatly appreciated.

Nick

Welcome to the forum.

Just use the search function and you'll find tons of debates on that subject. If you can find slip ons for 600 tops, I would say go with that if you don't care about performance but if you're getting close to 1k just go full system.

Get a used set of M-4 slipons for under $300. Loud and light.

That way you won't be out too much doe if you discover you want the full system.

Thanks Guys.
Appreciate your thoughts.

As I mentioned, I don't wanna get into remapping, upgrading ignition, filters, etc... I have a Repsol that I consistently mod each winter to scratch that itch and eat up my pay check. This bike is mainly for cruising and trips.

If I was to go full it was highly recommended/ researched that LV Factory line is best option because they are setup to match the bike's factory settings; which nullifies any need to recalibrate. Only problem is I was told by them that they aren't producing a full system for ZX14s anymore and won't be until next year.
