I,ve been a bit concerned over the last few days about the increasing pain around my Patella & had my suspicions confermed @ another Hospital (where my wife works 15 minutes down the road) The top Registar Orthopedic Doctor ( Opposite to the one at the Royal Adelaide Hospital) asked what persentage of healing was you told last week ? I replied they said im now at 90% & it was 70% three months ago! well from what we see (after their X-Rays) they are way off im thinking about 30%-40% but no one can give you that figure unless you have 1) A bone Density Scan, 2) A Cat Scan, it's also true that those Screws in your Patella have become dislodged inside your joint ! but before we go in to remove them I have to do all these other tests to plan for other things their that might need fixing up while we open you up, so go to IMVS for a Blood test tomorrow then badger & push Radioligy to get your urgent Scans done soon, in the mean time you will have to wear a full Leg Zimmerman brace again to stop the internal damage increasing further in yer joint. Hmmmm I maybe lucky for once & they only have to remove the Screws,at least something positive is being done about them,so now it,s off to work to let them know im out of action for at least three weeks more

Sounds no different than here. Someone is not practicing medicine over there? What is with the mechanics you had working on you? They go to school, read the books, have the tools, final result? Then, you find a doctor that can tune you back up. YOu more or less took yourself to a different dealer. Guys in the back fucdidupdue you. I don't know? Alleged, malpractice? I'm no doctor. I'm more a shaman.

Shaman has an easier, more common senseshit approach. She has an inner. You have an outer. Yours grows with blood circulation, say yes, I have common sense. Say no, she turned around and threw socks down her tight pants. Twat didn't you understand? That you might be wearing a peg leg? There was someone inside you, said check me out under the hood? Iffy lube down at add a laid the nurses> I don't have time for surgery, nor, was thinking about your leg at the time> I was thinking about hers.

My wife brought my Bone Density scan results & unfortunately they say that there is either a "Re-fracture or Non-reunion" to my femur, it also states "There are two screws fixing the patellar with approximately half of the screws projecting into the adjacent soft tissue". so much for the doc who brushed me off last Wednesday with your 90% healed see ya in "Three months"(Febuary 2)

WHOLE BODY BONE SCAN

History: open fracture of the right distal femur in lune

flexion, ? infection, ? non-union.
REPORT: rhe is symmetrical blood flow to both knees. the

delayed bone scan images show mi'ld focal osteob'lastic
activity in the same region, corresponding to the fracture

I'm no Doctor...but it looks like it's actually doing fairly well, with that large plate holding those two pieces together....looks like it just needs more time to regrow some more bone at the fracture area. That'll fill out with time, right? Are you having pain at the fracture area?or just at the patella with the screw deal. It's a bit 'surprising' to me that they would anchor that patella to the socket ball like they did.The patella is supposed to be kinda moveable over that joint isn't it?It can't move with those screws in there, right? You think that's what's causing your knee pain?

I know they know what they're doing...naturally.Time Bean....time.

That is some float, bean. No doubt you have a gimp going. Goes with the sport. Wear it well. There are worse off than you. Yeah, that looks like a bionic is forever, but I'm a shaman. I'd pull all that crap out and hope for the best and let nature finish it off. Maybe that float section needs some relief to close. It wants to stand up higher, but that plate is fixed above and below. Now that you're active and all, it caught up with you.

Like I said, I have no clue what I'm looking at. I know my wrist and foot floated back together. I gimp on occasion. That is the residual speaking. Nerve damage, right? You'll have that forever. Goes with the sport. Wear it well.

You're going for a syrup test first. They are going to inject some cocktail juice from a veggiemix and mix it did up first. See if that blood flow is flowing to the right parts and infection is null&void. Then pull that shit out. JK! Sounds like you are in good hands. Caution is the game. Correct diagnosis. They are more checking compression before chasing their tail, make a mistake going in. Not kill any infection first before the next move. I wish I was a doctor. I played one with a girl once. No motel6 for me, where is the ticking bomb, I just had a good nightsleep.

Hey grn14 & Hub I just put the report above Blue07 er I mean GRN14 LOL the second page answers your question GRN14 ; Findings; There is a lateral screw and plate fixation of the comminuted distal femoral shaft supracondylar femur fracture.Bony union appears reasonable solid but not complete. There appear to be 2 screws fixing the patellar which appear to have migrated medially out of the patellar with approximately half of the screws projecting into the adjacent soft tissue.-------------------------- the other page is above in my last updated post

"half of the screws projecting into the adjacent soft tissue"....I thought they might be going through your ball joint there.Guess not,eh?Well...that could be a blessing.Pull those screws and reset your patella...WTF do I know? There should be a fluid sack underneath your patella...keeps it from hitting the bones at the joint and allows for movement while bending. Is THAT still in there? It's called a 'bursa'.Might ask em about that....it's YOUR knee afterall.I know they have to be careful about cutting too much around there...scar tissue buildup and all. They do have a fairly new ability to recreate cartiledge with some sort of graft, and then it grows into what it's supposed to be for a given joint or whatever...they said anything about that?

Blue, Good here thanks, bean that offer of the 9 inch grinder and cut off wheel, to reweld ya bones together is good until the end of December so don't leave it to late.

Those screws winding themselves out, should have had some Loctite 680 super retaining compound on them, warranty job for sure

Good luck bean , Its been a long way back for you, you'll make it, I got every confidence in you.

Good Bean....I think they'll probably remove those screws....allow that knee cap to move over that joint. You may see some amazing healing results in short order after you're able to bend yer leg.The bones to me do look strong enough to begin bearing more weight. That WILL help them grow quicker.Chin Up Bean!Lookin good my man!Your muscles and stuff around the joint will be able to begin working better if they can get that patella doing what it's naturally supposed to do.Those screws look like they're definitely stopping a natural healing thing. But necessary I guess for a while?

Yeh Grn14 me thinks with hindsight maybe trying in the past to get more bend might also be why i've stress factured the femur again! think of it like having a stop in the door way & trying to close the door ! something has to give hey. Oh well now it's just waiting.waiting.waiting scanners not working so i'll type this out as read !!!
CT LOWER EXTREMEMITY
CLINICAL HISTORY
Distal femur fracture, non union with REORIF and bone graft
Feb 2011 Non-union. Also position of the screws noted to be
intracticular related to patella.

Comparison made with previous plain radiographs of 2/11/11.
Lateral plate and screw fixation of right distal right

the lateral aspect of the distal femur. They appear to be
within the bone complete. A single screw at the medial
aspect of the medial femoral condyle line and 2 screws at the
medial aspect of this region slightly cranially also within
the bone. However 2 screws at the medial aspect of the
patella are seen projecting outwards as described on the
plain radiograph. These appear to be in contact with
anterior aspect of the medial femoral condyle. There tips
