Anyone know where I can find smooth grilles?

There are several who make them. Try Roaring Toyz.

What up all, new to the site. with regards to the smooth grills, i was only able to find them at, as mentioned before roaring toyz, for bout 3 hundred dollars.

What the hell is a "smooth grille", a BBQ accessory? I have to know, just in case I need one!

OEM panel info: As you ride with the OEM panels, they funnel air (including dust) to the rider's inside knee area. After riding around with sand, debris, etc. on the road, I have a nice collection of dust on the bike. Anyone else have this problem?

That TOCC place has a good price for those smooth panels. I think they are on my next to do list.

Uh, I don't know about you guys, but I really don't know about spending $299.99 for smooth "George Foreman Grills" to get rid of the Testarossa look.

I went through all of 58 Cycles 17 pages of ZX14 parts/accessories. 58 Cycles does not sell any replacement grills, smooth or similiar to stock.

I did find these carbon fiber Bestem grills, but they have the fins.

Anyone have any of these plastic or carbon fiber parts? Any feedback about quality, fitment, colormatch?

I am either going to paint my grills black to match my 2009 bodywork, or I'll replace them with the carbon fiber Bestem parts. I have to get rid of the green Testarrossa stripes on my Monster Edition.

he used to be able to get any year's color. the fit wasn't perfect but nothing a minute or 2 with a dremel tool didn't fix. I liked the look.

Thanks for the link. That is what I was looking for, I think. I'm wondering how they look on the bike, as its hard to tell by the close up pic that doesn't show the rest of the bike.

Anyway, very nice looking ride. You are definatly a biker, not a wanna-be. How is the touring screen as far as wind noise and turbulance. This has been a sore issue with my previous bike (08 FJR1300). Did a run to Canada from long island NY with the wife on the back, not too pleasant. Had the scala rider hooked up to my RF1000 and her Arai Quantum II. Pretty noisy, would not do it again. But your set up is obviouly for high speed touring.
Any comments???

the touring windshield makes a real difference. I use the same type communication set up with almost the same helmets rf-1000s and it was pretty quiet. but my girlfriend is only 5'2 and so she doesn't get much wind because I block most of it.
as far as your question was I on Alaska State Troopers. No, I guess I could have been - given my line of work, but not to my knowledge.

xxxses, the back rest/trunk you speak of is from corbin. You have to use their seat to accomidate the back rest. The trunk is a bolt on. corbin.com

Corbin makes The combination backrest and glovebox. It has to be mounted on a corbin seat. so the combination is a bit pricey. 499 for the seat although you can usually get a used one on ebay fo closer to 350 and a backrest for about 200 although you can get a used one for closer to 100 and the box painted in your color for about 360. I haven't seen many of the used glove boxes for sale.

Corbins customer service is hit or miss. Mostly miss and the seat always needs to be adjusted before it will fit. That being said I have always put corbins on all my bikes because they are comfortable on longer rides. so in a nutshell about 1100 clams for the seat backrest and glovebox. i have had mine for over 20,000 miles and I love it.
