Unfortunatly a woman decided to slam on brakes right in front of me, leaving me know where to go and ending me up on the pavement... /sigh

But I'm alive and well, just some rash along my right arm was the worst.. As for the bike, it skidded nose first down the road and landed on its side, the sliders saved most of it, but now I'm looking into repairing..

So if anyone could lead me in the right direction any and all help would be appreciated, do I take it to the dealer? A local shop? Will post pics later

Wish I had sliders at the time... But I'm paying for it now, kept on putting it off
But I still am thankful I'm not badly hurt and all the damage on the bike was cosmetic (expensive cosmetics)

I did take mine in for the dealer to check,, just. Wanted to be sure nothing else was going on
So far I got 90% of my parts (thanks Seno) Not really in a rush, she rides just fine,, just a bit rude looking

Speed freak, glad you are ok. How much damage do you have? Where are you located? If you are in the NY area I can hook you up with replacement parts. Even if your not in the area UPS will work.

I got some used side ferrrings for a monster.Mine fell over and I replaced them.I'll take some pictures.You can have them for shipping.

@leo, yeah man I remember first seeing where you had went down. I am glad your fair better than me injury wise, I thought the exact same thing I did on my bike.. being a new bike and all. I really am glad I have to sliders, as for parts wise.

Needs a whole new front end with mirrors, the windshield took alot of it but it still took chunks out of the nose
right side needs the lower fairing where it connects to the other side
Right side end of handlebar, no sure what its called.
new slip on.. /sigh just got those
foot peg broke so im going to need to replace that.
The guage cluster plastic mounts just broke off so its just chillling there.. along with half the screen broken..

Would it be wise to take it to a dealer? I really dont care how much it costs, it just pains me to see a beautful bike mest up, and honestly I just want it fixed...

My exact thoughts.....

I would let the dealer or a reputable shop give it a once over, just to be sure there is no hidden damage
+ it will be on paper by a professional that it's got a clean bill of health
Looking at your list of damages, sounds worse than mine , nothing broke on mine, just left side ground down
So far $700 into the repair, all what's left is the nose, then maybe the fender (but I doubt it's really
Just a minor scratch)
Btw- the end of the bar is a bar end

unfortunately nodda, not to cover this atleast.. Calling the dealership today to see what they say. I hope for good news

My deductible and the cost of the repair was basically the same amount, with some advice from folks here and other forums decided to pay for it myself, and not worry about raised premiums

Make sure it's a work order from your dealer
