Pretty crazy them guys were hauling ass. I didn't like a how a couple of those guys rode, seemed to be very unpredictable. But I also think part of that perception was from the camera angle.

"I didn't like a how a couple of those guys rode, seemed to be very unpredictable"...What makes it MUCH worse...everything around them is UNPREDICTABLE.Those motorists aren't expecting a missile flying by em at 190 mph.And that road doesn't give a shit WHO runs over that oil spot.(reminder to self).

Just NO! That's fuckin crazy. At one point I thought they were going to ride up onto the center barrier when they passed that truck and car on the left in a right sweeper. I love the fast fun sweepers but not with that many unpredictable people around you.

Thanks for sharing Rook. Great video.

I've never understood the attraction of hauling ass through traffic on a freeway. Any idiot can open a throttle. I guess it could be the adrenaline rush of cheating death? Now, show me a good set of twisties...now THAT is exciting!

I'm not saying I approve of their riding, however when you ride with the same group you become used to each other's style and they are more predictable than it seems. The cars and trucks are the dangerous unpredictable part.
I think that guy that almost went into the barrier needed to clean the inside of those leathers afterwards.

They removed the video but I found it again. No English at all on any road signs. I'm sure this isn't in the US. No cops for 15 miles either. Couldn't be anywhere I have ridden.

Looked like Italian, possibly Portuguese, text? I thought I saw "something autobahn" towards the end, painted on the pavement in the lanes. It's not the US, I'm certain of that.

Breathtaking riding. They're a "crew", I'm sure of that, too. The way they interact, wait for each other, know each other's moves. They have done this before, many times.

The "threading the needle", then being immediately overtaken by another rider who followed him through. Breathtaking.

Suicidal.

What I noticed was the traffic didn't seem to freak out, or react in anyway. It's not that I would call them predictable, just different than what we in the US (anywhere in the US) are used to. Wherever this was recorded, it's kind of like cagers are either used to it, mind their own business, or God forbid actually accept their role as responsible drivers.

In the US the unpredictability of drivers seems much greater as idiots are consumed with their own micro tunnel vision life journey such as the unforeseen and immediate need to pull into Star Bucks from 4 lanes over for a latte. I can't see this working anywhere in the US. About the only place I've really seen videos of more idiotic drivers than the US is Russia and everyone over there is drunk so at least they have that excuse.

My comment about the unpredictability of the riders, and the camera angle, was very specific to that I do believe the riders were familiar with each other. When the riders in front of the camera bike would encounter both lanes filled, they'd often slow up in what seemed fairly unpredictable way. Sometimes the rider would slow up and wait for the camera bike or other bikes to catch up and sometimes they would go through, it was all just sort of spazz-like. That's why I made the camera angle comment, it might be those situations looked more spazztastic than they really were.

when they stopped to wait for their buds, the guy on the left was right on the line. Do that in the US, and a semi is gonna clip you just for fun.

Watched it again. That 14 Rider...he's damn lucky.TWICE if his reflexes had been 'just off' a millisecond...it'd been a disaster.Had those cages he passed 'just happened' to drift slightly into him(not knowing he was there)...he wouldn't be filming this anymore.Luck...not skill.Had they been on Harleys doing this...they'd have already punched the clock tryin to slip in between cages like they were.

Several situations during that filming were simply pure luck that appears to be 'control' or 'skill'.My prediction:they won't be alive long if they keep this up.There's gonna be a situation come up they won't be able to 'squirt' between two vehicles and make it.Or slow down in time to avoid a rearender.Hope they have their wills signed.

No no and once more no!

Here we call guys like that "Temporary Australians".
Playing like that through traffic and relying on others for the safely of your life is sheer lunacy.

But they are not the first and they will not be the last...

"Temporary Australians!" I have to wonder how long a person could press his luck like that before it runs out.

That camera bike does look and sound like a 14 but the title of the video mentions an 06 ZX-10. I believe the 06 zx10 had the head that looked very similar to the ZX-14 so maybe that is actually an old zx10? Crazy whatever it is.

Another vote in the no column!
At one point when guy filming was passing a SUV on his left it sounded to me like there was slight contact; maybe his elbow or knee. He was just lucky his clip-on didn't make contact. These guys are living on borrowed time.

You guys need to check out some of the "Texas Hard Hitters" roll-on racing vids. They play in traffic like that for hours, right here in 'Murica. The Texas cagers don't seem to flinch, either, when they blow by at 180... but then again, no one has put the camera in the cars to tape the reactions.

Is it crazy? For sure, but I think there are more people like that riding stateside than you think. And they're not all wadding up.

I heard about some riders in TX going so fast the law has given up trying to catch them. Whoever they are, they must be playing at it selectively cuz I can't see the TX law backing down that easy...or maybe it's just considered too much of a risk to chase them with a helicopter.

Some may see them as maverick hero's sticking their fingers up at society's rules and expressing their freedom as they see fit.

Me, I see them as dicks.

What if at those speeds they swipe a car or truck in their endevours and splatter themselves all over guard rails and the road? That car/truck driver has to live with witnessing that for the rest of their lives.
Or worse if they are perhaps escaping the law and in the process hit another bike rider and kill both innocent road user and themselves?
Is it any wonder motorcycle riders sometimes have a poor name?
And is it any wonder some cagers close gaps while we are lane splitting?

Jeez...

nope but where to go to go fast? There's got to be safer places than an expressway with all the other traffic but as far as road conditions, that's the place. Smooth three or four lanes and designed for speed.

I just got what I'm considering my last warning from the local police. It was a careful start from a stop sign onto a highway, plenty of room before the oncoming traffic arrived so I tear out into a hard left and hit it. I'm just about to hit 3rd and I see the car at the back of the line is a cop. The exhaust emits a few quick pops as I roll off the gas and shift up and I'm seeing his brake lights on as peer down into my mirror. He could have turned around and come after me but for one reason or another, he didn't. Possibly because he did not think I could have possibly been breaking the 55 mph speed limit too badly in second gear. ...or maybe he knows I live about a quarter mile down the road ...or maybe he felt it wasn't worth it since I slowed down immediately....or maybe he surmised (correctly) that that was one last spirited romp before shutting down for winter. The last ride of the season ended on a lucky note. It's 64 F and the 14 is out draining in the garage and ready to go into storage again.

So, where to go fast when spring comes?..where to go fast?? NOT here. Too many people know who I am and it is so laid back and quiet. Where to go fast??

Come on Rook...

Either racetrack (go as fast as your bike, your skill and your kahuna's will allow)or quieter country roads that you know well and where general traffic and Mr Joe Police are rare.

Take some time to look around and you'll find both...

I have absolutely no desire or the kahuna's to join your 200mph Club.

The racetrack is where the really fast guys and girls go; the autobahn is where it can make sense to ride like this without being on a reacetrack. But ultimately we remember that we're riding street bikes... and we ZX14 riders ride the most ridiculously capable street bike of all. So it's up to us to demonstrate some self-control and ride within our means.

For some of us, that means the occasional soul-cleansing blast to points north of 160 or so. Life is too short to play scared. But play smart.

Racetrack if I can afford it. I already got stopped out on a back road up here. $10 ticket for failure to produce proof of insurance--insurance card was illegible (got wet in the rain and ink ran). That was the first lucky break, he coulda gave me 35+ over the limit. There's lots of cops around here and they do patrol the boonies. Towns are very small and boonies are pretty much all we have up here so the cops are out there. I've heard there might be some desolate roads where you won't find anyone except for the deer but it's quite a hike. Shame because we have some great roads within 20 miles but there are cops out there. I'll have to seek those out this winter. The roblem is that I can't go fast if I don't know the road well and if they're that far away, I won't be able to get familiar with them.. but I'll figure something out.
