Brocks Alien Head Full System
04/12/11 1:58 PM

Greetings all,

I have a couple of questions for those that have the Alien Head full system. I have one ordered and I ride quite often with my girl on the back and it looks like the AH may fire a lot of hot exhaust at the rear peg. Has anyone found this to be a problem? Also I am considering getting the noise reduction plug as well. Has anyone tried this and how well does it work? I personally love the sound but my girl maybe not so much. Anyway, any info u can give will be greatly appreciated!

I have the S meg, cant say about the exhaust problem but I find without ear plugs ,I do get noise fatigue, the plug is supposed to help at the expense of a couple of peak HP

My girl took one ride on the back of my '06 with an AH installed... After the ride she said, "yea, go ahead and take the passenger pegs off. I won't be riding on the your bike again with that pipe." Looked better without 'em anyway. (the pegs, not the girl)

I promised her I'd keep my '08 two-up "friendly".

If you're gonna be doin' much 2-up, you bought the wrong pipe.

Thanks for the info guys... I will have to see if I can switch to the full Titanium system. Gotta have my girl comfortable for 2up. Hopefully its not too late. Guess I geeked out a little bit from buyer's excitement! *sigh*

So DogoZX, would you recommend the full titanium system for riding 2up? I've put a stop on the order for the alien head.

I'd recommend any system that dumps as far back as that C/T or further and is not a high-mount. If you're willing to spend the money for it, the C/T is a great exhaust. Nothing not to like about it.

Hey Retsam
I had a 4 to 1 low exit exhaust on my bike for about 2 years and know I have the Dual C/T's and I must say they are so much better than my original pipe. The C/T sound fierce!

Everyone who knows, is coming around to the CT-Duals.

What does an alien head do for a basically stock ZX14 motor? Make it loud and obnoxious, and not much extra horsepower.

Which just proves, loud isn't power, its just loud. Sort of like the HDs with open shotgun pipes. Slow and loud.

Snuffy, Those dual CT's look bad ass on your bike! I've switched over to the 4-2-1 CT. Hopefully the order will go through. If I was thinking when I bought it I would have added the Duals in with my loan. Oh well, ya live and learn. I cant wait to get the CT and the PC-V installed though.

Privateer, I hear you. I should have just taken some time to do a little more research before ordering. Again, ya live and learn.

I've switched over to the 4-2-1 CT.

You're gonna be a happy camper.

Light weight, great note, exceptional power (and map support), perfect fit, and the Ti turns a brilliant blue with age... when the sun hits it right, it almost looks like neon glowing under my bike.

The NRP is a waste of money. I picked one up, it BARLEY made a difference, and I checked its tightness 3 times, over the 5 days I had it, before it blew out on the highway somewhere.

I really want to get rid of my full brocks street meg for some type of quieter dual exhaust. Dont really want to go quite, just take the edge off.

I used to have the same header as you... and yes, they do look very similar. The only obvious difference (besides one being Ti and the other stainless) is at the header flanges. Your's are flared, where they go into the motor, and the CT header uses collars.

"Frankensystem" was a Hindle Race header and Brocks AH midpipe and can. Only that header is the same as yours. I had a Hindle 20" meg for that setup also.

Mine is the same header, the muffler wasn't badged as it was for export only,I'm going to see Lang to see what can do to make it quieter, probably a titanium oval. There are a few areas outside of Toronto that test the db output then ticket you. Also I get noise fatigue on distance riding even with ear plugs

My meg wasn't badged. It was purchased direct from Hindle.

Actually... the meg in that pic is the Hindle standard (2") version... but I had the same thing in the race (2.25") version also.

Nope, wasn't in Canada. They were being closed out at that time. I bought a standard meg full system & a race header for my zx14 and a race full system (oval can) for my zx10r... got 'em CHEAP. I bought the AH used, but the GF wouldn't ride on the back with that pipe... so I then ordered the 20" meg for the race header (from Hindle). The guy that bought that system ended up blowing the baffleing out of the AH and then traded the meg for an oval can... says he loves it.
