As some of you remember, Dec. 7th I experienced a tragic fall from a Tree Stand. Though I was told by my Drs. I would make a full recovery, I was also told that it would take time.
We often take our day by day activities for granted. And it is sudden wakeup call when our "mobility" is lost.
You find yourself setting little goals to strive for.
For me they were:
Getting out of rehab for Xmas
Being able to use the Tub without assistance
Getting off the Walker
Shedding the "Cane"
Well, 3 1/2 weeks ago I was finally told I could put 100% weight on my bad leg. Easier said than done. I had to learn how to bend my leg ALL over again. Not an easy task
So I set a goal to look forward to. I vowed that I would get my leg limber enough to Ride my new Bike to the Annual SPORT BIKE NIGHT at my Dealership.
Well, tonight was that night.
And I did it.........
From a Walker to a Cane, to a Ninja !! In 3 1/2 weeks !
It never felt so good to throw my leg over a Bike, and feel the wind in my face again
I'm still not 100%, but now onto the next goal....
Surf Fishing, then Back in a Tree by fall (with a harness)
