Uh OH!
06/01/11 9:08 PM

Installed my low connie gel seat tonight, along with the cortech sportbags and tail bag, AS well as the 10,000k HIDs.

Just need to install my bar risers and fix my leaky valve cover and i'll be ready for a CRUISE this weekend.

*didn't this bike run 8.20s 6 months ago???*

So what do you think you'll run in the 1/4 with the bags installed???

Not too sure. Went out and rode about 150 miles tonight. It was a blast to be back on the street. I definitely need to find a suspension set up for the street however. AND i need to install my bar risers, even at 25 i'm just not near as young as i used to be LOL

all in all i feel pretty good though. Slight numbness in the rear, but i'm thinking it's more due to the bumpy roads and not so set up suspension (i've ridden bulls that were less violent).

Bags served their purpose. I stopped and picked up some food from sonic, took it to the bike meeting spot and ate there. That was pretty awesome.

I AM going to need to start packing my clear visor. Even with the HID's it was still pretty hard to see through the dark tinted visor

Are you gonna find out?

Bags are kinda nice to have, aren't they? I just picked up my first set of saddles and don't know how I went this long w/o them. The 14 still handles amazing well fully loaded too.
I put HID's in my highbeams this week, last night was the first test... Love 'em! I think I saw a couple deer melt as I went by. lol

Put another 120 miles on yesterday. About half of that 2-up with a.. umm.. rather large chick (i was running block lol)

Bike handled it pretty well, if she hadn't been a squid and moving around entirely too much it would have been alot more enjoyable.

Now i'm gonna ride it out to my buddies house, he just bought a new dyno so i'm gonna be the first to test it out for him

SOOOO fucking jealous!

Bike is looking good in street trim ... but no mirrors?

Didn't you keep the Ohlins drag shock to handle the "big'uns"?

Yep, kept the shock. Haven't figured out how to set it up for street riding yet lol

No mirrors, but i plan on buying some. Everybody wants an arm and a leg for them even on ebay!

Might just take a passenger that doesn't jiggle... uh, I mean wiggle... around so much.

You mean none of the guys, you've been smokin' @ the track the last few years, have a set to give you now that you're doing street duty? Bitter, I suppose? lol

Bar end mirrors work well, and can be picked up for a song, @ Cycle Gear and such... just incase you hadn't thought of that.

They're blue.

Work pretty good, i use a tinted visor so they came in handy. I hate the connectors though, Plan on changing that very soon

Yes, I see this is an old post I am replying to but I can't help but wonder why you mounted those Cortech bags back(ass)words?

Is there some advantage to that orientation? I ran that set for years turned with the taper to the rear and the side bags cleared the pipes easily that way even when mounted lower and the top bag provided a good back rest at lights.

I see that you don't have upswept rear pipes but am curious as to the advantage to your mounting style.

Thanks,
Paul AB

Interesting.

I bought the bags used, I had no instructions.

I assumed they went that way for the aerodynamic properties.. smaller in the front and bigger in the rear.

I'll feel quite silly if i've been running them backwards this whole time.. lol

And after a quick search, i've come to the conclusion that you're right! Thanks for pointing that out, I've never had any issues with them.. They sit nice, exhaust doesn't hit, never tried to fly away.. But if they're meant to ride the other way then i'll have to switch them!

Sheesh Slow....honestly?You thought they went the other way? Thought that bike was for sale Bro?She's a keeper...that's for sure.Love the paint and all.You can score some mirrors off E-Bay my man for around 40 something dollars...new...BUT...made in China. They still fit perfect and look exactly like stock.Work just as well too.I know...I bought a set!(although I didn't know they were made in China at the time). No matter...these ones worked out fine.Been on there about 3 years...doing good.

Got a question here about that seat...okay?Is that a factory "accessory" item? The one they show on the Kawasaki Official Website? For the Concours14,2008 and up?I want really to know...IF that seat is as comfortable as the Concours Stock Seat...if you know.Glad you're gettin some good rides in!
