Grasping at straws here, but simple first. Is your Power commander grounded behind the Rad fluid bottle ? If so try a different location. Negative side of battery is best but not a must. Try that one first before moving onto spark and fuel.

Good chance Romans is right, its happened to many others.

I do have my PC ground behind the lower retaining bolt of the radiator overflow bottle, but following Brock's Performance very good CT-DUAL installation instructions, I used a dremel and removed paint around the bolt hole and have never had a moments problem.

As the immortal David Hough says remember "the king is a fink". Fuel, Ignition, put it in Neutral and try it Kickstand Kill switch jammed?. Those are the most likely for any bike.

ok,i tried the plugs to see if they were firing and they were.checked all of the wiring.checked power commander and disconnect it.still no startup.until i tried some old school tricks.simply lifted the number 4 rubber boot on throttle body and gave her a shot of gas, tighten it back down and push the start button and fired rightup.it only lasted a few seconds, but gave signs of hope.she's starving for gas.now to fiqure out what caused this problem.should have caught this when she sputtered, but it's best to check everything.does this bike have a fuel-filter on her?it might also have a faulty fuel-pump.what do you guys think?

I'm no expert on this Mack but I like to pass along helpful bits of info that I have have come across. What I was told from a trusted forum member a couple years back was that there is a screen inside the fuel tank. it is not meant to be changed. Have not ever heard of fuel screen clogging issues. I,ve heard it's a fine screen but not going to stop the finest of particles. have had my tank off several times and disconnected fuel line. There is no filter in the fuel line.

must be a clog of some sort. This is getting way out of my territory but my guess is blocked injectors. That premium gas we (are supposed to) run precipitates a lot of octane dust. I can see it inside my gas cap around the filler neck. I run a bit of Sea Foam gas additive every now and again to keep things free and open.

On a side note--no, you cant put a fuel filter in. The gas is under high pressure and a DIY job would likely cause a serious fire hazard.

a bad fuel-pump.

Do you hear the pump when key is first turned to the Run position ? If so, does it have a rattle sound not the normal clean wine ?

well,i really can't hear due to the auto-choke wining up.a good friend of my(willie hagen)suggested almost the same thing.he said put my ear to the tank and listen for the fuel-pump.he also said bring it by his shop in the morning.if anybody can get it right,it's him.kawasaki king in the south.i thought he was busy this week, but he called me asking about my troubles.don't know how he found out(my brother),but this guy can do it all to any bike.dyno, deep engine work, tune and very handy with a welder.so that's where i'm headed in the morning when i get-off work.

almost sounds like ecu troubles i remember another member had this type of thing happen and all was good after an ecu replacement I don't remember his bikes yr but the early models have weak fuel pumps and the 08 up pumps are the up grade.Good luck man you'll get it.

Mack,

What auto choke are you referring too ?

With the bike in neutral and the Run switch set to RUN when you turn the key ON you should instantly hear the fuel pump prime.. Or make sure none of the hoses coming from your tank are kinked.

look at your throttle body on the left side and turn on your switch, you can see it start to rotate forward sj1400.that's what makes that winding noise.fuel pump, you'll have to put your ear on the tank to hear it.the fuel pump is shot,we disected that thing and hooked it to a battery, nothing.xxxses,i'm not counting out the ecu,so i going to buy another one to.will the 08 fit the 06 wiring harness if so,i'll buy that one instead of the 06.how did your friend bike perform after he installed the 08 ecu?did it perform like the 08?

nope, not yet.waiting on fuel-pump to come in.i really hope that's the problem with her.man this is really bugging me out.if this don't fix it,she's going straight to dealer.i have one year left on my warrenty and about to put it to use.my mechanic is very good at this stuff, but kinda busy with bikes already in the shop(a 14,13,turbo drag bike,9,honda funeral exscort bike, several 4 wheelers and dirt bikes.i can't really get the attention she needs and that's frustrating.he's working with though.he usually drops everything to help me,but don't want to put him that predictament.can't win for loosing!

really wanted to ride, didn't want my bike hanging around the stealership for a month waiting to be fixed.that's the good and bad of having the warranty.it sucks, but that's the route i took.i feel u on this, rome.the part will probaly be here today and start working on it then.it's one of those things where you're damn if u do or damn if u don't.but there will be some better decisons coming on this bike.money is always an issue, but i'll have to suck it up with the stealership.it's an love-hate situation, but has 2 be done.either way, she'll be back soon Rome.thanks for being my personal CPA and sheding light on this problem.

Totally understand this one. And then they have the nerve to ask if you want extended warranty on the bike when you buy it. Good one.

Rome,we need to form some sort of committee to represent this forum and others.we need one or more motorcycle lawyers to deal with the big wig(kawasaki) to fight for our warranty rights.really stick it to them like they been sticking it to us all these years.now that's a motorcyclist dream to get back at them.really hold them to their words or print.lawyers that ride and understand the bikers point of view.wow, what a dream.can u dig it,Rome?

In life you must pick your battles. This one is a No Win.

No tugging on Supermans cape.

to fight for our warranty rights

In most cases it comes down to how much the dealer is willing to beg on your behalf. Or if he is just plain lazy.
