May be running my first 1/8th mile track next week due to our local 1/4 being shut down. I dont even know what to shoot for. Whats a good time in the 1/8th. I know in the 1/4 i want to break into the 9's this year.

sorry for going a little off topic... when did Idalou shut down and what 1/8th mile track are you running? Abilene? The last time I raced out at Idalou was about 4 or 5 yrs ago.

Ok back on topic.

I've never ran an 1/8th mile track but a 9.99 in the quarter calculates to about 6.4 in the 1/8th. 9.00 is about 5.8. That's off a couple different conversion tables I found.

Really depends on what you run in the 1/4.

Thanks for the replys, Idalou been down for a couple years now, they are in process of rebuilding, we are headed to the sportbike bike rally in Iraan next weekend and thinking about stopping in Midland at the 1/8 mile track. The rally should be fun, over 1000 bikes last year, this year they have the dyno trailer and having top hp shoot out.

just my 2 cents but from running mine both 1/8 and 1/4 it seems mine pull on the top in, of course my bike has a stock wheel base so i run the 1/8 at about 6.5 if i can keep the front down and the 1/4 quarter in the 9.90's on a good day, most days i run a 10.10 or so. if my bike were strecthed i would be in the 9's no doubt. april 25 at dallas ran street e t and went all the way to the finals only to lose the last race.

Come on over to Abilene. The 14s here run anywhere from 6.45 @ 115 stock to 5.67 @ 132 MPH turbo'd. I'm still on a drag ZRX but just got my '09 ZX14. Gonna get her ready for next year this winter. The ZRX will be sold at the end of this season.

Hey Brucer,

Sounds good, I am sure we will head down there at some point, we ran in Amarillo a few weeks ago, then Idalou is running 1/8 on the old shut down, no slips or lights just grudge, and now the old town and country airport opened up a new track called cannan lonestar dragway, they have a website if you want to check it out. Holler if your ever up this way
