Worth It?
02/05/12 10:27 PM

Hey there. I used to have a 2007 ZX14 that had the secondary flies removed, Ti-Force Hi-mount slipons and a PCIII with a custom map. The bike was written off and I was able to salvage most of my aftermarket parts. I now have a 2011 ZX14 with the Ti-Force slipons installed. Will adding the PCIII and secondary flies removed make much of a difference on a 2011 as it did on a 2007? I heard and I have noticed that the power curve has been improved since 2007 in the stock config.

Thoughts? Comments? Other mods?

As of '08 Kaw reconfigured the ECU to open the secondaries sooner, so there's not much gain if any when pulling them on a later model - your biggest gain would come from a FULL exhaust system and retune with pc3 or pc5. With slip-ons only, you wouldn't need a pc at all - the ecu can map the air/fuel change enough to suffice

In 08 they opened sooner, but still need to be removed if you want it all below 6k. Also, I wouldn't recommend running slip-ons and flies removed without a PC. My bike ran real lean below 6k and partial throttle openings with the same set-up.
