I hope I do not get yelled at for asking this, but after reading some forums , I am still confused, lol.... I have a 2014 Zx14R with 3500 miles, runs perfect. Just picked up my Brocks Alien Head2 full system, black ceramic coated with green label, freakin love it sofar ( in box ) lol .... so heres the BIG `???? I was going to wait to put exhaust on until my power commander V comes in. I am ordering tomorrow. I thought all I had to do was add the power commander with the exhaust. But some people are telling me to get my ECU Flashed...... I do not race or go to the track. My wife and I just go go go... So whats the real deal... I assume I def need the power commander, but whats up with flashing my ecu ??????? I hope someone can clarify this for me, thank you in advance........

Others who know more will, I'm sure chime in, but here's the short version. You can put the PCV in and put in a map for the new system OR you can send your ECU to get flashed, OR both. Either way you are providing for an adjustable fuel/ignition method to tune the motor for the pipe. I currently have a PC3 , but will porbably take it out after I get a flash.

So whats the real deal.

Brock = No pc needed
PCV = Compliments the pipe change.
Flash = "I do not race or go to the track. My wife and I just go go go.." Stay stock.

Flash is a choice, it is not mandatory. Like HUB said!PC will be all you need and yuo can get by without that.

Keep the subs in or leave them alone in other words.
1. The power is spread out better.
2. Smoother driveability.
3. Shift quality goes up (the lift at the throttle, the move at the sub, there is a big difference.
4. With subs out and it being flashed you'll lose that... "No one can replace Brad."

If we're speaking in terms of "NEED", then a Power Commander isn't required. The factory fueling is pig rich and will operate beyond safe with a full exhaust. Since you don't race or push your riding abilities I would recommend stock like Hub said. Nothing wrong with that.
