Looks neat, too bad it's not geared toward more than a cell phone. Oh, and Bluetooth really turns me off.

Admiralman, I don't have any knowledge of this system. I use a Bluetooth Multi Interphone System.

Super quality BlueTooth, outdoor waterproof audio system, rider to rider super-range intercom, helmet to helmet 2-way radio headset, auto connects to Bluetooth mobile phones for handsfree music and calls. The maximum range is about 500M (1640 ft.) at speeds of up to 90 MPH .

I use the Chatterbox xbi2-h which mounts into the HJC flip-up helmet (they were designed for each other, with a mount for the unit, and circuits into the inside and mounts for the headphones and mike) I have.

It will control this combination in order of priority: 1) GPS, 2) cellphone, 3) MP3 player. It is all bluetooth, and the audio is flawless. The MP3 sound is very rich and noise-free. The battery in the unit lasts for about 20 hours of continuous use, more than adequate, even on my 7 day rides because I can always plug it into the charger every other day overnight.

So lets say the MP3 is playing. The GPS wants to issue an impending turn alert tone. It pauses the MP3 player, sounds the alert tone and message, then un-pauses the MP3 right where it left off. If the phone rings, it issues a special tone, and I can press a glove-friendly button on the side of the helmet to answer. Or let it go to voicemail.

Plus, if I have someone with a bluetooth unit riding with me, I can talk to them, or if they have CB.

A little pricey but worth every penny.

@Edgecrusher - I believe that the Blinc unit will allow you to hear more than just the cell phone. In my scenario, I have a DroidX which has the phone, mp3, and gps...all of the sound should go to the Blinc unit. I could be wrong.

@KawKrew06ZX14 and @Privateer - your units might just be the way to go. They are $100 more from what I can tell but seem to have a lot more capability. Unfortunately, I don't have that helmet so I will see if there are options for my helmet.

@KawKrew06ZX14 - is the unit you have the same as Privateer's?

no I meant connectivity-wise. I have no use for a phone especially with mp3 capability, but it's be neat if I could use that little unit with my Ipod touch and quit replacing my tattered headphones. There's a bunch of different options on the market when it comes to these, and I'm glad you brought it up. Time to go shopping. I've been wanting a com system for years!

Just for the record on these. I have one that works great if you're using it with a cell phone. Unfortunately not the case for an iPod. You may get a better deal if you just get one on a helmet like this one. http://www.oneal.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_70&products_id=852

I personally have the helmet and love it. It's not a cheap junker helmet.

I'm getting the last work done on my bike, hoping for good weather 2 Saturdays from now when I ride to the stealer and get new Pilot Road 2s put on.

I was going to pipe my MP3 into my Chatterbox and then into my helmet speakers, but I decided that was really too dangerous because it would overwhelm things like horns, and sirens (until far to close) and so forth. So I'm running phone and GPS to the Chatterbox, and putting a set of Pyle speakers on my handlebars, and then I can plug the MP3 into that and turn the volume up. Reviews from guys with HDs with straight pipes say they can hear music fine with them, so I should have no problem.

The last of my controls (2 x Kustom Komfort's custom remote heat-trollers, mounted)
is due here possibly by weekend.

Then I take the 2 controllers from KK, and the one for my heated grips, and two BMW sockets to my machinist friend.

He will make me the smallest possible aluminum case to hold them, arrange like this (excuse my lack of a design I could upload):

* - control pot (knob)
() - BMW socket

so...

...*
()* *()

more or less, with the sockets up more. Anyway, I figured this would create the smallest possible box. He will just set it up on the vertical mill, square the block of aluminum off, then do vertically oblong plunge-traverse to make cutouts just big enough to slide the control pot circuit boards in. Then plunge twice for the sockets. All of these go to within 1/8" of all the way through. Then he will turn it over, and plunge to cut out for the sockets to slide through, and for the pot shafts to slide through, and small plunges for the LED indicator lights.

Hopefully it will be about the size of a pack of cigarettes, maybe smaller.

That will mount on the ram mount in my steering stem.

Then the stuff in the pod gets wired up (2 hours) and the speakers get wired up (1 hour) and its time to start packing for the first trip of the year in May.

The Interphone F4 is the one I went with after extensive research. Too many people complained about the Chatterbox's speakers and there were a few reported hiccups with the iPhone and Chatterbox/Scala that got me concerned.

Too many people complained about Chatterbox speakers, where? What did they complain about? I'd like to read the reviews.

Mine are working great, I've used them a lot. I have the new -h unit, which snaps into the HJC modular helmet.
