Camless valve system

Very interesting, I thought. This would eliminate valve adjustment every 15K miles. Now only if they could come up with fully automated throttle body sync system

I thought F1 already used pneumatic valves. Don't get me wrong, for a street engine (really?) it is a huge step forward. When I first watched the video I laughed when it appeared they may be purely electronically controlled. Cause you know, electronic shit never fails. It'd be nice to think well at least if it failed the fail safe would closed. But what if it failed and stuck on!?

This is cam-less, F1 still have cams, they use actuators for the valves in place of valve springs

Mercedes tested a system of magnetically-actuated valves, but could only get i to rev to about 6000 rpm. This air-and-oil setup using technology similar to EFI looks promising.

Pneumatic valve tech was first used by Renault in their turbo charged F1 cars way back in the 80's but the system was not 'camless',simply replacing the valve springs with a piston operated valve closure mechanism using compressed nitrogen.

moto3 class use pneumatic valves. Once the bike stalls they can't push start it like a spring style valve setup. I was listening to a motogp commentator and he brought that up.
