Okay besides the obvious saddle bags and cruise control, what has been the best mod for your 14R?

Lower center of gravity.....
Easier to put both feet on the ground....
Less weight on your wrists......
Less drag as you penetrate the atmosphere at speed.......hopefully less drag equals more speed...
Less drag should help give you slightly more power.....

Lower bike=more control
Depends on how you define "control".
When you lower a bike, you change the geometry. You reduce her ability to "turn in" during counter-steering.
KHI built the geometry the way it comes stock for the specific purpose of maximizing handling. When you change the geometry, you detract from that optimal geometry.
Though you may have other reasons for wanting it lowered, and not need the handling you are giving up by lowering it.

Bean, how do you like these lowered pegs? Are they a tougher reach to the controls by your foot? It looks like you would have to bend your shifting foot's heel further back (down) to up-shift.

I always lower my bikes about 1/2" front and rear. Way more confidence in agressive cornering, the only reason to raise the rear should be to sharpen the steering without losing ground clearance. Only really good riders can make valuable use of a higher center of gravity I reckon.

lowering the bike equally front and back IMO would only sacrifice cornering clearance, but for all us vertically challenged riders it would allow you to be flatfooted at a stop, great bonus if your loaded and have a wife that fidgets a lot,my wife is a great passenger when moving, but worse then a little kid when stopped

Hello All-I bought a black 2012 14R a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! I am interested in buying the Knight design footpegs that are 1" lower. Where can I buy them?
Thanks in advance for any help. I am really enjoying learning about all the possible mods on this forum.

I did the following:
Corbin seat (an absolute must, the stocker sucks so bad)
Grip Puppies
Throttle Lock (Vista Cruise)
Zero Gravity DB
Heli-Blocks 3/4" risers
Buell Pegs (1" lower")
Tank bag
Cortech Tail Bag
Makes it really nice to ride. Did a 3 day trip to a conference on it and it was fantastic...
